The best time of the year is approaching. With the draft over, OTAs and minicamp finished, and training camp right around the corner, I figured it'd be a good time to start this thread back up. Let's use this thread to discuss drafting, player rankings, trades, etc. Here are some helpful links:

Rotoworld - My go-to site. Great articles and news blurbs for every player.
FantasyPros - Rankings, ADP, cheat sheets, research articles, news blurbs.
FFToolbox - Rankings, ADP, cheat sheets.
Harris Football - Rankings based on game film analysis. Weekly podcasts.
Fantasy Football Calculator - Mock drafts for a bunch of different league formats. My preferred site for mock drafting.
Rotowire - Pay site with good rankings. I use the free trial jig to download customizable spreadsheets with rankings for my roster/scoring settings. (Just use a fake email address/phone number, you don't need to verify anything.)
Rotoviz - This is a pay site with very insightful research-driven articles and apps/tools.
Borischen - Algorithmic, tiered rankings.

ESPN Fantasy Football
Yahoo Fantasy Football

MyFantasyLeague - Highly customizable league hosting site. Very popular for Dynasty leagues and leagues with unique rosters/scoring. Offers free trials for a few weeks of the season but costs $80+ every year.

Fantrax - Similar feature set to MFL, but with a much better UI and layout. Also offers completely free, mostly-full-featured league hosting. I run a Dynasty league with huge rosters and very in depth scoring settings and the free version fulfills all of my needs. Cheaper than MFL if you need some very intricate features. Great customer service as well. I'll be hosting my Dynasty league here this season.

Revolabels - The best draft boards/player labels in the business.

This is usually one of the better threads on NT every season. Let's keep that going this year :nthat:.

Still not quite ready just yet but come the middle of August I'm all in :pimp: .

I'm hoping to draft DeVante Parker in all my leagues this season and put him at WR3.

$$$

Nah man that's too late .

When do ya usually draft? I try to push my league(s) to do it right before Week 1. Talking a few days before.

ie: Jordy Nelson going down in camp after a draft. Sucks to be that owner but why not avoid the injury risks and draft as late as possible?

Same here, love him this year. I always try to grab post-hype 2nd year wideouts. They're always great values and sometimes turn out to be league winners. Hopefully the change of coaches on the Dolphins allows their whole offense to flourish.

I usually hold the draft for the league that I run after the 4th week of the preseason, and try to push the commishes of other leagues I'm in to do the same. There's nothing worse than drafting a guy who gets hurt in the preseason.

I usually start researching, mock drafting, etc right around now though. I play in a nice amount of leagues for a large sum of money so I take it pretty (maybe too) seriously .

I do hold my Dynasty league rookie draft early, right before training camp begins for most teams. Makes it more "realistic" in that you have to deal with injuries and you don't necessarily know players' roles.

Got my draft scheduled for August 27th at Dave & Buster's :pimp:

I feel like I'm the only one in my league that even has fantasy football on their radar though. Once training camp and preseason starts, I imagine things will pick up.

I'm drafting from the 11 slot so I'm not sure if I want to go WR/WR or WR/RB. I'm guessing I'll be looking at A.J. Green, Dez Bryant, Alshon Jeffery, Jordy Nelson and Allen Robinson.

I try to do my draft as close to the start of the season as possible, but August 27th is the best I could do with the schedules of everyone in my league. Labor Day weekend is never an option as a few people are out of town and since we do an in person draft, no one is really trying to draft on a weekday night during opening week. The weekend before Labor Day has works out ok for the most part.

Anyone else only prefer having 1 league/team a season? This season I may wind up doing 2; one with my fantasy baseball league if they have an open spot, and another with my league from last year.

The fewest I've had is 2, but I like the idea of doing just 1 league. Depending on how active everyone is and if there's banter between everyone, I think you become a little more immersed and you take things a little more seriously. When I had 4-5 leagues, there would be weeks where I didn't care about losses or even about the waiver wire for some leagues.

Yeah, 4-5 is way too many for my liking.

I usually do right around 5-6 leagues. It can get a little tedious on waiver night but other than that it's nothing. I target the same players in every league on draft day so it's kinda boom or bust, but it makes it a little simpler on gameday. I usually win every game or lose every game . It's worked out for me though. Last year I won 2 out of 5 championships and made the playoffs in all but 1 league. Two years ago I went 2 for 6 and was also runner up in a couple of leagues.

What makes it interesting for me is playing in different formats. I play in a plain old PPR league, a Keeper PPR league with a Superflex, a 2 QB PPR league, a Dynasty league with 2QB/3RB/3WR/2 R/W/T Flexes, and usually join another league or two last minute. I don't play standard leagues though, they suck.

I'm trying to join an auction league this year. I've only ever played in one of them and I won the championship. It was supposed to be a keeper league too and I would've been stacked for season 2 but there was a mutiny and the commish didn't run the league the next season :smh:.

7th Chamber 7th Chamber What's D&B's Draft Party deal like? I usually hold my league's draft at a bar here but my friend no longer bartends there so we're gonna have to do something else this year.

Didn't know the 2016 thread was made already. Always one of my favorite threads with people helping other people.

For a 3 hour block, it's $29.99 per person and that includes unlimited wings, unlimited soda and a $20 Power Play card. They also give you a draft kit, which is usually a smaller paper draft board with a full set of players.

We went last year and everyone was down to go again, so I booked it. We got the private room and there was plenty of space for the 12 of us with some bringing a spouse or kid. They have a tv as well if we wanted to throw on a preseason game or something else.

I think you can also reserve a table out in the main area, which is usually just the shuffle board table, but I don't know how much that is.

Anyone interested in playing in a Nike talk league? If we can get at least 12 teams I'll set up a league...inbox me your emails if you're down to play...

I'll have to bring it up to my league. Thanks for the info. There's a spot here that does like unlimited wings/fries/chicken fingers and domestic draft beers for like $100 a head but some of the dudes are tight :smh:.

Depending on the format, I'm probably in. It's pretty tough to schedule the draft and everything though since we're all in different timezones and have different schedules ourselves.

$100 is kind of steep, especially if you are in a money league, but if ya guys make hours out of the night it's probably money well spent.

I just checked their site and it looks like they switched it all up. Pretty good deals now.

$60 a head for all of that is :pimp:

My fantasy baseball draft was at one of the local bars on a random Wednesday night. We didn't have to rent it or anything, it was empty and we had the front corner to ourselves. Football is obviously a bigger deal.

Word that's what I was thinking. I could've sworn it was around $100 last year for way less stuff than that . $60 for all of that food and whatever mixed drink/craft beer you want for 4 hours is a no brainer.

The past few years we've done our draft at a local bar here too that another one of our friends bartended at. He'd hook it up with food and drink specials so we'd only spend around $40 over the course of the draft, and he put us up on the 3rd floor so we didn't have to deal with any drunk idiots . He doesn't bartend there anymore though which is why we have to switch it up this year :\.

i'd be down for a NT league in yahoo. I joined an espn league last season and I wasn't really feeling it. im gonna be in vegas for week 1 so im pretty stoked about that.

Top 4 picks are a lock. Antonio brown is a lock for top pick. The next three can go in any order that you please. Julio Jones, Odell Beckham jr. And Deandre Hopkins. As of right now I feel that anybody else picked in the top 4 picks you would be playing from behind

in my keeper league (PPR), I have brown and Julio. id be losing a 1st and a 3rd rounder if I kept them both. ive been thinking about keeping those 2 but I have gurley and rawls too. plus this is the last year I can hold on to brown, so I don't know what im gonna do.
