Dont do free shipping. But yeah, its still about 15%. Its worth it to me for the international exposure. I could easily rent a prime location storefront with the amount of fees i pay monthly but the thing is i only pay if i make sales, and im not restricted to local traffic, i sell all around the world for that 15%.

im done selling on ebay thats for sure. i will continue to buy random **** tho. i havent had 1 bad experience yet as a buyer that i couldnt resolve. finally copped my infinity gauntlet pot holder

Makes me even more weary to sell my sneakers. Been being lazy but every time I get the gumption to list em, a thread like this pops up.

No. Gotta file unpaid item to close it out tho.

i just did that. can i ask for the final value fee reimbursed now?

I think you have to give the buyer 4 days to respond ie pay for the item. If they dont pay in that timeframe you can close it out and you will automatically be credited the final value fee. You cant leave buyers negative feedback though.

As i said before, unpaid item strikes is the only negative thing you can do to a buyer. I suggest everyone go in their ebay settings and block buyers with 2 or more (the allowed minimum) unpaid item strikes. Its the only way to affect their buying habits. I get a handful of people litterally begging me to lift those restrictions so they can bid on my stuff lol. Feels good man.

No. What happens is the buyer will pay you. Then recieve the item....open up a case, and tell eBay that the box was empty when it arrived. Or the item was broken/another item their. eBay tells you that you have to provide the buyer with a refund. You can't fight it.

Just google eBay, buyers paradise. It's crazy. Don't sell on eBay.

What if you get some type of validation from the USPS?

I haven't sold on eBay in years, but I would expect there to be some way to combat this.

i have three listing on there now.  How would you guys recommend selling my sneakers? I've sold about 20 pairs over the last few years with only 2-3 incidents of unpaid claims, but now I'm nervous

USPS can't validate anything. All they can validate is that you shipped a box.

If somebody says nothing was in the box, or a fake item was there....there's nothing you can do about it.

Good thing I came apon this thread! Was just about to throw my blk n red og 1s on the bay! Got me nervous now!!!

ya gotta take pics when ya send issh..it helps just in case u need arbitration.

Ebay doesnt accept pictures from buyers or sellers in any type of dispute.

You gotta get the buyer to contradict himself somehow. If they say it was an empty box you can show the shipping receipt which usually has a weight on it. Not sure about fakes but i think they have to validate that somehow. You can aopeal the case decision if they return something different tham what they sold, unless their overseas, then ur screwed.

I got a case against me now. I think im gonna try making ebay charge my seller account for it, pay it with a cc and do a chargeback lol. We'll see how that works. Otherwise have em send it to collections and fight the collection company. You can also file claims with the post office if you got insurance and they claim empty box or damage. You can also do chargebacks for shipping fees with the post office. I pay everything with a cc for that exact reason.

Haven't bought anything off eBay for about 7 years. I can never find what I want for any sort of deal. Anything I'm looking for is always cheaper on Amazon due to free shipping

Just add me to the list of people getting ****** by Ebay

The buyer did a chargeback so I refunded his money. Refund went through and now he says he never got it. He's probably going to keep my item too.  If this "loop hole" is real about the buyer protection program....I'll be "buying" something from this A-hole very soon with a new Ebay account.

huh? why did you refund his charge back without getting your item first?

he did a charge back on PayPal? or did a return request on eBay?

best bet is to call eBay they will side with whoever makes more sense...its just a myth that they always side with the buyer...they have in recent years been more friendly to sellers.

i love ebay to shop...and paypal credit is awesome...

when it comes to selling thou? strictly Craigslist...unless its a high-profile product then ill do ebay.

You're going to get ***** over. eBay will hand you that L. It's terrible.

Selling on eBay is like smashing the neighborhood dummy with no condom.

Zero protection.
