Nail....Meet....Head....Vol. Dr. Umar Johnson Discusses Racism, President Obama, Personal Agenda Vs.

This guy has some real powerful things to say.

But is he practicing what he's preaching? I heard he's got two kids with two different women but he's out here telling folks marriage and abstinence is imperative to success.

See this is what I don't understand. To my knowledge that is false, or I haven't heard anything about it. There's been other accusations of him but Why worry about that? He could be a crack dealer but everything he said was still right. 100 % facts. You don't need umar to be doing anything to understand what he said or to make changes. Ppl gotta learn to eat the fish and spit out the bones...IDC if Ronald Reagan said it. It's still facts

Exactly. No activist is perfect. Nobody is perfect. Doesn't make them any less impactful in their sermons of truth.

What is true is not dependent on my life or actions. Truth is the only constant. I can do all sorts of debauchery this evening, but if I get up tomorrow and tell you that Black people are oppressed, that is still 100% fact.

Of course I understand how credibility and clout works. Integrity. People want their leaders and motivators to be perfect so they can be inspired to their own level of perfection. But that's unrealistic. Nobody is infallible. In fact, imo, I think missteps in the past help in the future. It shows the person made errors, realized it, learned from it, set out to not make the same bad decisions again. I can respect that. If you haven't made at least a couple bad decisions in life ( and bad is relative) then you haven't lived a life worth noting.

Exactly. For real though. It's crazy in 2016. Ppl want you to literally be perfect...That's why we will never have another leader. Could you imagine MLK today? BLACK ppl would be calling for his head cuz he cheated on his wife. Dudes would be ready to throw the whole civil rights movement down the drain off some **** that ain't got nothing to do with that

I'm definitely no saint and I'll occasionally find myself attempting to steer teens in the right direction when, I come in contact with them at my work.

100. MLK was exactly who I thought about when I typed that. The media would body all of them today. Rosa would've just been thirsty for attention and would've had his icloud hacked. X would've been an anarchist thug. Huey would've been Tookie Williams. They would've torn down every single worthy challenger that appeared. Hell, the people in this thread alone couldn't even take his words on the issues of Black people without mentioning their disdain on his theories regarding homosexuals.

Thats like saying a man in prison or who's been to prison can't educate people on why they should try to stay away from prison. With that logic, Malcolm X should never been as influential as he is/was.

We cant leave education of our kids soley up to the education system designed

to mislead and mentally enslave our kids. Its poisonous.

My kids are home schooled. I know everyone can accomodate that lifestyle, but

yall got to do some sort of schooling even if its a hour a week. Something to

balance out of counteract the euro- brainwashing going on in the system.
Interesting approach. How old are your kids now if you don't mind me asking?
I seen some of those revisionist and racist textbooks being used in US schools :smh:
That's where the indoctrination starts.

The ones getting taught are 8 and 6.

How do you find the efficiency of home schooling goes? Do you believe your children as as equipped or more so than public school children? Private school? How are the tests? Are oyu as strict in combating cheating? Any curriculum you forcus on more than others? When you get to history, what do you teach? How in-depth? How about the social dynamic? What do you think about that in regards to your children and their ability now and for the future with interacting with other children and adults?

Sorry for the 20 questions, I'm genuinely interested. I know some people home school their kids, but I haven't heard of them doing it for the reason you gave, so I'm more interested in your approach to keeping your children socially conscious.

Well, I do it for many reasons. My wife and I discussed this long before we had kids and felt this was the best way. A lot of prominent leaders have their children home schooled/ private tutored and we saw the immense value of this method. We wanted to have the most influence on our children (not other kids in class, or tv). We strongly believe in implementing the reinforcement of high character qualities amidst the school curriculum. They don't test often because we can clearly see their understanding of the material once the assignments are reviewed for accuracy. (Testing really for when you got a bunch of folks in a class and you dont know who knows what. So you must test often to see who is retaining the info and how much of it) They get assessments 2x a yr to see where they rank for their age. The assessment they took in May revealed that they were one year above grade level in reading and mathematic areas. My kids dont cheat. lol. There's no one to cheat off its, one on one learning. That's why its more effective. Studies show children learn better when they can move around and interact with the material and have experiences and thats what we try to incorporate. Almost anyone I tell about homeschool expresses the same concern of social interacting. That all melts away when they talk to my kids. Hell, I think they are too social. They can hold an engaging conversation with any adult, articulate their perspectives and ideas, and are well behaved (in public, lol). And things like dance class, soccer, allow them to interact with other kids. They make friends EVERYWHERE they go. They also have meet ups with other homeschool kids, have penpals, and skypbuddies. I have full control over what my kids learn and peace of mind about the environment they are leaning in and the people they interact with.

My wife and I considered the homeschooling but felt it'd hinder her growth of social interaction with others her age. Kids need that. What we do is teach her at home to increase or counteract what she's learning in school. I took her to see Selma, she watched Race, got her books on Harriet Tubman, slavery, etc. Gotta get her some more books though.
There are huge and various are homeschool networks where moms and kids get together frequently for trips, activites, and projects. Social interaction issues aren't as serious as some may make it seem. Think about it, what we know as school was invented in 1837. We weren't socially inept before then. ANd if you have multiple kids, then this its a non issue, cus they will be interacting with you and their sibling on a regular basis. I know a physical therapist who who went to school then became homeschooled part of elementary and beyond til she went off to college. There is no difference between her and any other college educated female. She had a full scholarship, went on to earn got a couple degrees and is married now with 2 kids. Shes extremely social, and says enjoyed her experience being homeschooled and plan to do the same with her kids.

But I think its super DOPE that you are being proactive in educating your daughter. Like i said, not every can manage this lifestyle. But everyone should b teaching their kids and not solely trusting "the system" with their legacy. 15 min a day, teach your kids something they wouldn't learn in school. Or pick a day out the week and watch a documentary or something and talk about it. Make up a learning game or something. Our children are our legacy and we can't have their perspective formed and shaped by anyone but us.

edit: homeschooling is regulated differently from state to state

So awesome man. Much respect to you and you wife for taking a real interest into your children. That effort is everything.

I really wish, as a people, more of us were socially conscious as our ancestors were. We still have the right to assemble, and yet nobody does. The NAACP used to be a powerful force. Now it is just a jokes on sitcoms when people mistakenly call it the NCAA. I want my people to be stronger. To be respected.

They had the illusion of a powerful force.

An organization largely financed by Jewish men can never truly be for black people.

And people, many here on nt, swear music is some innocent art form that has little to no effect on the state of affairs today. Just because they personally listen to a record and dont go out and rob and steal, kill and sell drugs they think the music is not influential. Music is probably the biggest culturally influence in the world today. **** is so obvious but people wanna deny to the death that rap music is negatively effecting the black youth and the worlds perception of the black youth. **** is an epidemic, its poison. Folks need to wake up and quit trivializing this force fed culture. Music is like the main determinent of your culture, of individual personality and individual goals and values. How many people, actual hip hop insiders have to tell us whats going on with the music business for people to understand its not just some meaningless, ineffectual form of innocent entertainment? You can listen to and repeat rosseta stone tapes over and over again and learn a new language but doing the same with hip hop tapes isnt gonna teach you the messages propagated by mainstream music? C'MON! This is the method by which ypu learned everything you know, practice, repetition.

Edit: and its not just hip hop, all mainstream music is programming, television and movies are programming. ***** been going on for years. 'The industry exposed' is like a 100 part series, showing hours upon hours of programming and how its been used litterally from the very first music video, to influence culture and behavior in all genres of music. **** is witchcraft. Sorcery.

I feel what youre saying but what other motive could there ever have been for it? They haven't really conveyed any ulterior motives besides progression of black people. People can't get help? We can't get anything started unless we own and operate it 100%? What if it's a business? We can't get investors if they aren't black? Jewish people had the resources and the connections to get it off the ground, but I don't remember them ever turning it into something that was about them. They stayed in the background and let the organization flourish.

One problem is that most people don't understand the science of music. They view it merely as a form of entertainment. Something to nod your head back and forth and dance to. Hell...let's just start with having an understanding of what sound in general really is. There's a reason commercials use jingles. There's a reason schools teach the Alphabet through song.

This is a must read.

Point to me one time throughout history where a people found salvation and independence via their oppressor.

Jews don't give a **** about you. They've been exploiting and monetizing your culture for centuries now. They aren't even "jewish". They invaded your land, stole your customs and sciences from you and co-opted the term "jew".

I didnt even wanna get into the concepts of frequencies and vibrational patterns and their biological effects. Everything including moods and emotions, all the way down to the cells of your body are vibrational patterns. And they react and respond to various other vibrations including musical frequencies in various ways. This has been know since at least ancient greece. Its far deeper than just catchy words and beats.

This means so much and I'm not even religious. I interpret it to mean sound or vibrations control everything.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

There are some theories that things can be built with sound. Heavy objects moved by sound. But forget the theories, the fact that we all vibrate on the same frequency which allows us to perceive things as "solids" and that high pitched sounds can shatter glass are mind ***** by themselves.

I used to dismiss the idea of music's effect but I don't any more.
