How much did Kanye help adidas?

No one really wore Jordans till Kanye, no one really wore Adidas till Kanye

I mean sure but they also started putting out good products( not like they hadn't before) but Kanye himself can't make a bad shoe desirable

Yet the 350s 750s and 1050s sell.

Hype does things to people's judgement. [emoji]128514[/emoji]

I think Nike being lazy and putting out trash for the last 3 years helped Adidas more than anythingView media item 2108030
Like come on, this the garbage that Nike/JB is putting out. The Jordan 31 is about to open up doors for Under Armor to be competitive.

Kanye helped Adidas def

So many hypebeasts I know don't even want Jordans/nike anymore

Just yeezy, select few others like ultraboost, nmd, even some Y3

Put it like this...

Without Kanye when has Adidas ever consistently sold out of a $200 all white running shoe?

only adidas shoes i own contain boost. had the UB before Kanye because of the primeknit and they advertised it as the greatest running shoe ever, so i went ahead and ordered a pair.

little did i know that it would be one of the most comfortable shoes ever.

sheep jumped on adidas when they saw Kanye rock triple white energy boosts, then triple white UBs surfaced and it was over.

They remind me of these, kinda.  JB going backwards.

that was the point...from an aesthetic standpoint.

what I love is how Nike didn't embrace Nike saying they don't give deals to entertainers...

next thing you know

"Nike told me, 'We can’t give you royalties because you're not a professional athlete.' I told them, 'I go to the Garden and play one-on-no one. I'm a performance athlete.'"

Letting Steph Curry and Kanye West leave Nike will probably haunt them for a while.

real shhh adidas is puting out better sneakers than nike right now.

nike effed around and got lazy...

adidas is way more exciting than nike

and the next generation is rocking everything now. they are very open minded and nike really lost it's stronghold in the lifestyle department

I agree tbh. Im frequenting the nds and boost thread more than any nike thread these days.

Jordan been dead for me

yeah my jordans feel like shoeboxes now that i've been wearing boosts...i work too much for me to put on those uncomfortable sneakers on my free time.

i have converted everyone i know to the boost sole too. it's all the same reaction...most comfortable shoes ever.

nike is going to have to come up with something better than the boost to get me back tbh

Trueeeee

Even Roshes feel like bricks in comparison to New Balance various offerings and Boost technology.

Kanye, [emoji]128293[/emoji][emoji]128293[/emoji] shoes period, the transition of running sneakers being more fashionable than hi-tops and all the clothing collabs (BAPE,palace, white mountaineering, raf,Rick Owens Etc)

They got in with the "fashion crowd" and that's been a big help

It's a fair question to ask. Adidas's rise in popularity over the past few years wasnt all because of Kanye, but you'll be a fool to deny that he played a big part. Adidas started picking up a lot of steam when they introduced the Boost tech. And they've just been putting out more cleaner looking silhouettes in general and caught peoples attention. AND THEN Kanye came thru and put out the Yeezy Boosts and that was what really put them over. Not to mention Nike has been kinda slackin as far as dope new designs go. To me it seems like Nike has been more focused in rerererere-releasing classic retro silhouettes instead of creating new classics.

Low cut non bulky sneakers go better with skinny jeans. Srs

one of the many reasons I stopped buying jordans. adidas also has better looking causal shoes, I'm at O'hare right now and see more Adidas shoes and apparel than Nike.

nike dropped the ball not giving kanye what he wanted

you walk around the streets of nyc and im sure the rest of the US you see it adidas on peoples feet who 2 year ago would not be wearing Adidas

it was only a matter of time i remember telling someone back in 2012 nike needs to watch out its getting to comfortable
and it happened at the start of 2014 way into 2015 and in 2016 Adidas has found its stride

Let's be real. Cats weren't checking for Adidas heavy until Kaye went over there. Keep it real, though.
this is true for a lot of people...

but let's be real Adidas is putting out better products

for me what brought me back over was the re-release of the stan smith which was my favorite casual shoe.

then the primeknit stan came out and was open to feeling out different adidas models.

i then went to the flux and tubular which was cool but meh...

what really got my eyes open was the the pure boost. which was amazingly comfortable.

then the ultraboost came out and it was a wrap... which is the goat sneaker imo.

i honestly feel sorry for people who haven't tried on a pair of UB.
