How Do You Feel About Your Child Being Exposed To Same Sex Couples Through Cartoons/Kids Shows (Nick

my level of rustle comes from people who do exactly that, and put them on the same level

it becomes an agenda when people equate civil rights to gay rights

like i just see it as being facetious and self-serving to compare them
There is no agenda to draw parallel though.

You claim to be so upset at people so called downplaying the black struggle with comparisons, but even in you last few comments you have downplayed the gay rights struggle. Which you shouldn't be indulging in too.

This is why dudes like Lionblood can get a angle on people and rustle them to death. People concede the moral and logical high ground to him instant, don't realize it, and get pissed off when he hammers them with it.

People like Steezy is another breed, you're probably better off just ignoring him completely. He lost

Was there an agenda behind the pokemom episode with butterfree mating ? And rejection?

They can choose to blend in if they want, unlike blacks
This is part of the reason that suicide rates in the gay community are so high.

They're told that they should just "blend in" and essentially hide a large part of their identity.

That's just taking the blame away from the people who perpetuate bigotry and placing it on the victims.
This.

It bothers me to no end when people say they can blend in.

So we're asking people to not be themselves in order to not offend other people now?  Why should anyone have to not be themselves on a daily basis?

How anyone can be okay with this is beyond me.

growing up in the '80s, i can't name a single gay tv character in any show that i watched. not saying there weren't any, i just didn't know it at the time.

and guess what?

I STILL TURNED OUT GAY

There was a lot of fruity/androgynous dudes in the in the 80's . George Michael and Boy George were stars

These are music artists tho. George Micheal made careless whisper though. And I'm happily married to a female BTW.

again, show me the gay jim crow laws? the gay picnics? the forced gay servitude?

you bring up orlando, but wasnt the shooter gay? is that like gay on gay crime?

guess we wont be labeling it that tho

like i said, violence i understand

just show me where face similar discrimination
idk why this made me laugh

It's sad people don't know the definition of civil rights and if two groups were denied civil rights they can be compared

I think the issue is when people try to compare, it indirectly marginalized the struggle that blacks went through in this country.

So they both ARE civil rights issues, but one is more extreme than the other.

Also one is more disguisable than the other, so there is no way for a black person to avoid racism. But there are ways for gay folks to avoid their form of discrimination since you can't look at everyone and know what they like sexually.

It isn't ok. Nobody should have to.

But at least the option exists.

Where can black people hide their skin color.

thats like saying you dont have to deal with racism, you have the option to move.

Nobody should have to.

But at least the option exists.

This is a terrible argument and only perpetuates discrimination. You're putting the onus on the victim to avoid discrimination. This line of thinking completely misses the point of holding the discriminators responsible. Literally nothing will ever change if this is how we approach the issue.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this point.

What you said about feminism and gay rights serving white people has some truth to it [emoji]128064[/emoji]

Also Google Chuck Knipp [emoji]128064[/emoji]

Here's an old article about him.

Why do you insist on having a pissing match about who has it worse?  Of course there are different levels of oppression throughout history, but living with discrimination is living with discrimination.  Having to not be yourself out of fear of discrimination is no way to live, regardless of whether or not you can "blend in".

And who said anything about putting gay rights first?  Is this not a thread about same sex couples in cartoons?

And who said the onus isn't on white people to end white supremacy?

Your rustle is blinding you sir, as usual.

To say, "They both are civil rights so they can be compared" is flat out disrespect to the black struggle in this country. It is insulting that ever gay thread turns into the same discussion.

Why must we compare? Why can't they just be two DIFFERENT struggles?
