The Official Nike LeBron 14 Thread. Retail $175

Nike had to drop the price so they could sell, the kd's woulda been 180+ and so the lebrons but nike cant push units at a retail price like that. The Nike B ball line cant be rocked casually and adidas has the casual game on lock right now (NMD, UltraBoost,Tubular,Y-3, etc.)

As far as casual wear goes, don't Jordan Brand retros kill Adidas in sales?
Adidas sells out each ultraboost and PK NMD, jordans havent sold out in store in a long time

Please tell me where I asked if they sell out or not-I was referring to number of pairs sold. The 72-10s sold a million pairs, which is a record for a sneaker release-is Adidas selling 1 million pairs of an UB release or NMD release?

well that's one shoe that sold well versus a line up of shoes that sell well, both adidas and nike pushed 2 million units their first quarter of the 2016 fiscal year. For a company that has 80% of the market they should not be pushing the same numbers unit wise as company that only has 13% of the market. Adidas is outperforming what they were expected to do which leaves nike having to gamble on hopeful big numbers on holiday sales from jordans. With a company that has as much pull as nike they should be destroying adidas and UA in footwear sales which is not the case unfortunately

Damn cats on here sucking Nike/JB hard.

Take your heads out the sand. Adidas is killing it right now. That Boost tech and Bounce tech is somethin' serious.

Yea it's true bounce and boost are the best cushion tech in the game but let's keep it to the lebron. Those samples i posted are either soldier 10 samples or Hyperdunk samples. We'll see if this lebron looks like a griffey 2...

Edit: Let's keep it strictly Lebron 14 talk before the thread gets locked yall

I've seen adidas hoops kicks rocked casually. It can be done. Lillard 2 and CL2016 especially.

But after seeing the wdywt thread, I can see why some NTers would find it difficulty.

My man, I hear you on the sock-like uppers. They go with that 'ish because it allows for a seamless construction that costs less. I wish they'd go back to the 90s design methodology too with a proper tongue and designs that had overlays and panels. This seamless, sock-like crap has been going on for too long now, consumers want change.

For some the fit is terrible to hit or miss. I'd like to see. Go back to traditional tongue etc.

For me the 12 and 13 I had to half size down, but beside it was a one piece that top foot pain was argh!!!! And I didn't feel locked in.

Lol. I'm actually very happy that the spotlight is now on Adidas, and they are now considered the "cool" sneaker. Makes it much easier for me to get Nikes and Jordans. Always found it annoying that these frail millenials who have never even touched a basketball were always rocking Jordans. Go rock some Yeezys or Boosts kids. At least those shoes were meant for walking around in. Leave the Nikes and Jordans for people who play sports, or at the very least, are sports fans.

As for Lebrons - the 13s were terrible for my feet. Hoping that the 14s are better, and at the very least, a little bit lower.

This website is called NIKEtalk so why are you surprised?

You're right that boost tech is amazing however, Adidas has yet to show it can sustain it's popularity.. Nike has literally been leading in sales for 30+ years now.

How is Nike not destroying Adidas in sales? How many sneakers has Nike sold vs how many has Adidas sold? The majority of people buying sneakers are buying models that most NTers would scoff at-and Nike makes a killing off of selling those shoes.

Please show me actual numbers and not pure opinion.

Far from surprised. Ive been on NT for 15 years.

Just stating the obvious. I love all brands and I have no affiliations with any. But I'm not not gonna just act like the standard in foot wear and athletics isn't getting some competition from the other brands that are putting out exceptional products.

Even though I train in Nike footwear. I wear UA clothing because their gear is more durable and quite honestly does better as far as moisture wicking and one to one feel.

Nike has been doing this a long time. We know this.

This. Hence why it's great that there's Competition. If you want an Air Jordan V or XIV, you can still get a pair now without hassle because not everyone is in the same lane.

Last pair of Adidas I've owned was the OG TMac 2 in 2002. Last Adidas I had a hard on for was the Gil Zero 1 and T-Mac 6. But that's changed now with the this D Rose 5 and now CL2016 and the yet to be unveiled Harden 1.

But if this LeBron 14 has some Griffey 2 DNA, I'm in.

I just couldn't fall completely in love with the 12 and 13 like I did the 10 and 11. That one piece sock lite fit did not work for me and them posite pieces on the 13 bothered my feel.

Hopefully with a reduced price means less gimmicks.

I love how ppl blindly follow the nike brand lol...they lower prices of the KD,kobe and Bron sig shoes because they were sellong at that price picepoint. Why would they not sell if they were the best? Becsuse yhey werent the best. Adidas and UA took huge steps in tech and offered it ay a much lower price.

Nike was getting away with selling garbage at a premium price and its because of the ppl in this thread who blondly follow nike nit paying attention to the rest of the market. I admit i love the kobe xi and KD9 but the CLB2016 is amazing as well as the rose 6 and 7 and all of those come in at a cheaper pricepoint. The lillard 2 was easily the best bang for buck.

Nike has stepping their game up since they have noticed addias and UA are really taking a chuck out of the nike percentage market

If I'm Nike, do I really want my brand known primarily for suspect quality Jordan reissues? New, innovative product is key for relevancy.

The last I checked there were some quality retros and some not so quality retros.. It's hard to keep consistent quality product when you're selling literally millions of $190 shoes every quarter. When people slow down purchasing retros, maybe this will change but, quite simply it hasn't-in fact retro sales are the one area where Nike has seen quite a lot of recent growth (unlike areas like Nike basketball where it hasn't).

100 years from now people will still wear Retro Jordans, just like how people still wear Chuck Taylor All Stars which were designed 100 years ago (this was also technically the 1st retro model from any brand).

i just put the units sold in the post if you read it, both companies sold 2 million units in the first quarter for footwear across the board, nike makes a killing on clothing, equipment, and accessories. I'm done with this topic as this thread is about the Lebron 14, im just hoping we get a good sneaker this time around

no one will be disappointed with the 14.

i guarantee it.

this post reminds me of the lbj 6, all the "in the know folks" said they were really dope. then the og lbj 6 gets scrapped (they weren't all that), and the released 6 were only ok.
