The Official Nike LeBron 14 Thread. Retail $175

Politically speaking, I disagree with ninjahood's views.

But sneaker-wise, he ain't speak nothing but mostly facts the last 2 pages.

- LB5 was an abomination compared to the LB4.

- LB12 > LB13

- LB 2, 3, 4 = 1st Bulls threepeat.
And if you add the AZG, it's like the Bills getting to the SB 4 straight years.

to da casual buyer, I can't distinguish why Joe Shmoe gonna drop a extra 100+ on a shoe that isn't that much better aesthetically than nike's mid priced offerings.

Pretty much. 14s def don't look like a sig shoe. Same goes for the Kobe AD. Joints look basic AF. The Kyries as well. Best looking sig right now is the KD9.

I like the Vs first good shoe he got, extremely casual looking...they didn't get his shoe right until the 5
Damn red... I know you have umm eccentric tastes, but I don't even believe you believe what you're saying

you been around me long enough to know the only Lebron's i like are the 5, 7, 8, X, 12 the 11 and 13 get honorable mention bcuz of their EXTs but i was caught up in the hype on the 11s and have more than i should or really want at this point, i'll only be keeping the lows i got and the graffiti and MN the rest of my 11s to include the WTL are going bye bye, I'm working on getting more Vs but they're hard to come by on ebay, BTW that means everyones favs 1-4 and the 9s are the shoe i think are the ugliest of all lebron models and i mean that to the very depths of my soul but hey everybody has an opinion i'm team f*&^ AJ XI and love really only the 12s

Buying the Soldier 1 over the LeBron V that year was a good idea. I didn't start liking them until they weren't available.

Looking fwd to this xmas colorway..

People generally enjoyed them for both causal and basketball appeal.
I personally love the elite X as my favorite lebron of all time.
I thought so. So it surprises me that more people don't include the X's in their favorites.

Im not huge on the X.

It doesn't look like a "signature " shoe.

Its nice dont get me wrong but the colors make it more than the Design imho.

Floridian...cutting jade....cork....etc etc.

That sneaker in a basic cw looks like a normal bball shoe.

Honestly, we really can't gather that kind of statement as many dudes that rocked with the lebron line rolled out at least a year ago. In comparison to what we used to have, we are are just the stragglers these days.

I actually search for elite X IDs almost daily on eBay. Rarely find them tho

here is the lebron line in a nutshell.

1-4: cult status. started off with a bang. most of the people in here are here because they purchased these models wen they first came out. We seen the greatness before the masses did.

5-6: the stale era. this was the time where , ironically, lebron himself positioned himself as the best player in the league, the signature line was at a hold. the soldier line in the same token started getting attention.

7-9: The prime years. This is when the masses started to realize that the lebron line was a force and everyone hopped on the train. it was also the inception of the elite series. also, it was the peak of its casual appeal while falling in line with lebron being  the undisputed King of basketball and really never letting go of that grip.

X : the pinnacle. This shoe marked 10 years in for the line, while being the beginning of the new era of nike basketball where performance trumped casual appeal. This shows the perfect balance and produced the best colorways and concepts in the line. but.....

11-13 : the downward spiral. Performance 100% took over. casual appeal didn't reflect what was the norm in the market and the prices unjustifiably started to trend upward. it alienated the masses while pushing them more toward the second tier products (lows, soldiers) which in most cases, where cheaper and looked better aesthetically.

and now we are at the 14, which looks to be the beginning of a new era.

ok ok i'll start the non-sense top 5 Lebrons

1. V - love the casual appeal of this shoe, puts me in the mind of the AJ XVI which is one of the few i like outside of the AJ12

2. X - prob the best cws ever, would've been #1 if the 2 unreleased EXTs had released

3. 12 - The best EXTs hands down not open to debate unless you have all 14prs of released EXTs

4. 7 - Dallas ASG 'nuff said RCs are very EXTish

5. 11 - Kings Crown is prob #2-3 cw on a lebron of all time

I don't know how old you are so I'm not sure if you'll be able to relate to what I'm about to say here, but there is an entire generation (or 2) who grew up knowing that THESE were high-tops:

Or maybe even these:

And believe it or not, there was once such a thing as mids:

And of course, lows:

In the current sneaker climate, the closest things to actual hi-tops are:

So when some of us comment on these being "lows":

I would just take those comments with a grain of salt.

Put it this way, generally speaking, if the laces stop below the ankle = lows.
If they stop at or on the ankle = mids.
If they go above the ankle = highs.

So now you tell me what you think these Brons are.

Again, there is ZERO lace support above the ankle.

How high a sneaker is doesn't determine the ankle support it gives.

From Mike Bibby to Steve Nash to Kobe, it's amazing people still don't know this.

Now you have hundreds of players in college in the NBA playing in Kobe's and Durant's and amazingly they don't get ankle sprains more than players wearing higher cut kicks.

The black and white colorway is plain as hell, and I wish they would stop throwing clear soles on so many kicks.

they hit it out da park on da 1st try... I didn't need any other pair after these.

Yep, by far the best 11

Up close and personal. Had to pause the TV to get this shot...lol

While people complain about the strap, I don't really understand the sideways crown in the back.

It's like they wanted to force the Lebron logo there.

so basically dude dislikes every shoe that the masses like....
that is super corny

Oddly enough, my favorite LeBron is the 7 P.S. in Black and Red. My first LeBron sneaker, it was love at first sight. Since then I had bought at least 1 pair until the 13 came out. I was hoping colorways would save it, but I couldn't personally get past the design.

I hunt eBay for the 7 P.S every now and then, but never find the right pair.

Not to bash anyone's style personally, but in a world where the LeBron 2,3,4 exist......and people think the 10 or 11 is better. I guess I will never understand. Everyone has different taste I suppose. Maybe it's nostalgia for me when I was younger seeing them and not being able to ever get them.
