The Official Nike LeBron 14 Thread. Retail $175

i'm waiting on that colorway that really shakes the industry like big bang or sb or area 51 XI's or lions pride or hwc

nike seems to have lost the juice.

couldn't hit hit us with a holographic iridescent joint for ASG like they did for jordan? Come on Swoosh
Basketball shoes in flashy colors don't shake up the industry anymore. Monochromatic running shoes do. That's just the difference between the mid-2010s and the late 2000s. No matter how crazy looking an all-star lebron 14 would have been, it's not going to have the same impact as the big bangs or SBs etc because basketball shoes in general aren't as popping now.

The only thing to hope for are all star ID options, though I think it's doubtful.

This thread isn't jumping like that either. You have your lebron regulars sprinkled with a few randoms here and there.
Im not just speaking on niketalk though. Im in alot of facebook sneaker buying/selling/discussion groups and when the 13s came out, most people absolutely hated them. When they released, a few warmed up a bit and a few flat out liked them, but most hated them because of the piece that hurt their foot and the weak colorways they brought out.

On these, it was maybe 60\40 when initial pics came out. After the first 2 releases, I`d say its about 65/35 like/dislike. I do trend analysis for a living so it come natural.

Even if they sold well, they wouldn't shake up the status quo. That wouldn't change the trends in what people are wearing or buying that dramatically. There's nothing revolutionary about a good looking all-star colorway. That's something we expect every year, and something we're invested in, because we're people arguing about basketball sneakers on an internet forum.

That's cool. You win.
The 14 is hot fire. The 13 is hot garbage.

My manz, You must have bought a size 2 sizes too big, because no way in hell can i just sleep these shoes on like you did. lmao

[emoji]128514[/emoji] Ima old man, i been buying the same size since I was 18...which was 14 yrs ago...but I think I could go down .5 and be straight. TTS they fit OK

So update, I just left a specialized shoe store to look into what they had for plantar fasciitis, and ended up copping some orthotics. They said I'm definitely a 13 and even thought I could go UP a size in my lebrons. Crazy! And I learned my right foot is .5 sz bigger than my left

Here's where my toe is.... so I got the right size and I can slide em in and out easy as pieView media item 2334204

WIn? I Didn't know it was a competition. You`re making it seem like its not possible to realize how people feel about a shoe without keeping a head count. I never said the 13 was garbage, i like the shoe, but to stop it from hurting my foot, I`d have to go up to a size 12 when i normally wear a size 11.

14s are better in my opinion, look and feel, but that doesnt mean the 13 is wack. Hell, i liked the 11s and 12s...........of course alot of folks say the last good bron was the 10, and i DIDNT like the 10, lol.

I mean the Galaxy Foamposite was revolutionary and that was a "good looking all-star colorway." However, the matter of the fact is that period from around 2011-2014 was a trend. I'm not expecting basketball shoes to ever be that mainstream popular again because that trend is over.

Had time to briefly throw these on:

Fit - VERY TTS lengthwise. I don't like to have my toe touching the end, and in my true size 14 I had about 3/16 of an inch of space while standing up. The materials are much softer and malleable however, so there was no rubbing or discomfort at my big toe. I have a narrow foot as well, and the XIV was noticeably wider and roomier overall. I would have preferred a little more length but without the luxury of half sizes, TTS will be fine.

Being that the package was outside in ~30 degree temps for a few hours, the shoes were still cold when I put them on. I was underwhelmed with the cushioning, but I'm not ready to give it the thumbs down until they warm up and I try again.

Oh, and they were slightly harder to put on than the KD9. Not a big deal though.

I honestly just didn't feel like the back and forth anymore.
I remember the 13s were a love/hate shoe but celebrities were endorsing them so they were ok.

My original point tho was that the limited appeal makes the 14 (and any other shoe) look better which I 100000% stand behind.

The colors have been trash that we've seen so far imo other than the black ice and the xmas pair.

The struggle to put the shoes on would have been a major gripe had dudes not felt "fortunate" to get them.

Lebrons started falling off in the eyes of many once they started being super mass produced beginning with the 11s.

The proof is in the posts where people don't realize that the "flopped" models sold $300+ million.

I tried them on also at HOH. I like the way they feel. I plan on going back tomorrow and get the BHM colorway.
They were difficult as hell to put on though.. Lol. The $175 price point is on the highest end of my price range that I am willing to pay for this shoe which is $150-$175.

These are very comfortable as it should be without any Hyperposite material. They are wide enough from heel to toe. The KD 9 made my foot numb the longer I wore them. The Zoom Pods are flat against the footbed where I'm not feeling each individual pods like on the XII. Dress socks made it easier to put on but thick socks will give me trouble getting my foot in for sure. No godly shin feel but if the tongue was any taller it might. At least it gives you power up of 2 extra inches. I might be able to dunk.
