That's why I'm so hesitant to going to a loctition and getting "manicured" dreads. I don't want them feeling stiff and hard like my last set of starter locs. The lady used some kind of cream and other products.
I had freeform dreads but cut them off a few months ago. I think my hair is too thick for them. I wanted to freeform but didn't want them to join together so I kept seperating them to the point where some of them were breaking. I regret cutting them so much.

Best type of dreads imo. They started out dope, but I messed em up with seperating them too much.I got freeforms i love them

Quick question as a straight up noob, if I get my joints done on a Friday can I take those out by Monday? My job won't have it if I come in there with those still in. I'm thinking about hitting Yannie directly I just moved to Edgewater and I want it done official. Price don't matter for legit locs.

FYI, Yannie doesn't start locs, and she DEFINITELY doesn't use clips
I just retwisted my joints tonight, it's so much easier when your locs are almost long enough to put in a ponytail.
I just wash my hair, dry it enough so it's not saturated. Then I throw a headband on, twist the new growth, and stick it in the headband. It hold SO much better than clips. Plus I don't have to use any gel/wax/oil whatsoever

Done had locks for about 6 yrs now.
If the clips don't work for you get clothes pins they work well. Like some one mentioned wear a durag especially if you just starting out. When i first started out I kept mine in for about two weeks and washed it everytime I get it done but now its like once a month. Remember if your black you shouldnt wash your hair everyday. Its not healthy for our hair. We need that oil. And if you dont want to go through that chief keef stage rock braids first. May not have the hang time lol but at least it'll look decent.

Copped mine from any old beauty supply store. My only issue is idk how to get my locs in there lol.
Aye what do y'all catz do about dandruffs? That's like my biggest issue which is why I'm always wearing a hat and crap
