THE DREADHEAD THREAD! VOL. NO DISSING! ONLY BIGGIN' UPS!

Copped mine from any old beauty supply store. My only issue is idk how to get my locs in there lol.

Aye what do y'all catz do about dandruffs? That's like my biggest issue which is why I'm always wearing a hat and crap

Olive oil

I just retwisted my joints tonight, it's so much easier when your locs are almost long enough to put in a ponytail.

I just wash my hair, dry it enough so it's not saturated. Then I throw a headband on, twist the new growth, and stick it in the headband. It hold SO much better than clips. Plus I don't have to use any gel/wax/oil whatsoever :pimp:

Tell me more about this.

Well if you think about it, locs were around long before gels, clips, etc., so they really shouldn't be necessary. I recommend anyone less the 6 months in to watch that intro to Yannie vid, she talks about some off the things people do that stunt the loc process, like using the wrong kinds of shampoo.

And as far as the headband goes, when I was just starting, clips would only really hold the part that was clipped down to the root and the rest wouldn't stay well, which let to the hold loc not holding well when the clips were taken off. Putting my hair in a pony tail, or sectioning off areas if it's not long enough, allows the headband to hold the ENTIRE loc taught, and you don't have to take it out right away.

Just got my hair twisted. Myhair was short so it's gona be a minute for me to get some length

I'm planning to start my locs soon. Probably by March or may of next year. Want to have some hangtime before I just go ahead and commit

I just sent a e-mail to Yannie. I'm currently in new England and may have to take a trip down to New Jersey and get a retwist by her. Thanks for putting me onto her NT Fam!

Man... My locks are ****** up. this year will be 3 years with them. Last year, while in my last year of college, i pulled out over half of my hair due to stress. I can only do a ponytail on one side (east side ponytail(what you call those girls who can only make those small *** ponytails that look like thumbs))

This is what they look like from the front. I wear a hat 24/7 so no one can see the damage lol.

This is the hat i wear. Sadly, no side view, but I'll link y'all to where I got it from.

Sorry, it seems amazon doesn't have the hat I got anymore. This is the closest I came to the one I have.

Damn brochacho. Hair still looks cool. Don't start them over. Just have a really good loctician that can fix them up.

Hands down the best set I've ever had. I'm gonna stick with them this time for sure. It's been one week yet the nu-growth is insane.

Starting off the more the better imo because I can always combine them

How many months of growth is that. I feel like I have more hair than that but haven't started yet. Currently at 7 months.

I dont have dreads, but be careful of traction alopecia. Some brehs get their hair re twisted every month. Not a good idea

tay1 tay1 really about to make me wash my **** out hit the Africans and start over. Baby mom's gon kill me and never twist them again

When I started off 5 months ago I was getting it done once a month so my hair can get used to being twisted. Now I'm just waiting it out.

Last retwist was early august, probably won't get another till November.

That has more to do with how tight they twist your hair than how often

Wish I would've done this when I was younger. I'm 30 now and the front of my hairline is starting to go a little bit.
