What? He lost to Eastern Washington and Boise State in back to back weeks.

Oregon and Stanford aren't good. People need to accept that.

Stanford's still a top 25 caliber team with one of the best play makers in the country.

After what happened against EWU and Boise, if they end up going on a run with Leach, that's a very impressive turnaround that should definitely be worthy of COTY consideration.

Should have rephrased that last bit a lot better.

There are 25 teams in the country that can beat Stanford this year.

And yes I'm down on UW as a playoff team. I never said they weren't good. I don't buy the top 4 hype yet though.

That defense is definitely amazing, I will absolutely give them that.

USC should have beaten Stanford too, but their head coach is a **** show.

And are you really trying to argue right now that Mike leach is a COY candidate? Is this the first Wazzu game you've watched this year?

Pac12 is garbage. UW has to win out to get into a playoff, but even then, I'm a bit concerned. Some teams will have to suffer a couple losses to better their chances.

Didn't he pass on BYU this past off season?
BYU passed on him.  They wanted him to dump the option and a hire certain guys for his staff.

Yeah

I mess with The Pirate, but I don't keep up with Wazzu like that out here

*If* they go on a run from here, being able to completely turn around your season after it easily could have went down in the tubes is an impressive feat.

I can't believe how far we've fallen, against USC we methodically dominated what seems to be an okay team. I swear we looked like we didn't even wanna be there last night.

The offensive game has passed Dave and bloomgreen, think its time they hire an NFL offensive coordinator cause the game has changed

the game has changed in just one year?

My have things really changed for Stanford fans.

Hire a NFL GUY? WHUTTTTTT!!!? The NFL is far behind college when it comes to offenses

Do you know how bad NFL coaches have faired when they dip back into college?

I actualky hope they fire people from STANFORD STAFF Just so this implodes and they can go back to being Northwestern of the West.

Stanford had a nice run. Thing are down right now. Its hard for that program to sustain.

One down year. They are entitled to it.

Would love for the Rams to make a phone call to Shaw's people

I'm fine with David as the head coach, he's the only person in the world who fits the job right now and our admission standards. The offensive side of the ball is pathetic, we have a once in a lifetime talent with no offensive scheme. It feels like they just go to my madden and pick plays randomly, no purpose, no rhythm, nothing. When Stanford came out for the second half, I felt like I was watching Alabama vs Lousiana Monroe. Ryan Burns isn't a terrible quarterback, is he a top five pac 12 Qb? no but neither was Hogan 3/4 years in the pac 12.

Also personnel decisions on defense have me scratching my head, playing four middle linebackers who wouldn't start at any other school with your best defense off the field in a crucial drive is just...dumb.

also, in 2014, when Stanford had a down year, people around the program felt like it was just "one of those years'' we had a big time playmaker sitting on the sideline because he needed to learn how to pass pro. Its just maddening how our offense works, we got true freshman throwing up 4000 yards passing with half the talent but our 4th year quarterback can't pick up the playbook because it's 300 pages long and we call the same 12 plays all game. Just MADDENING.

David Shaw will end up in the NFL in a few years anyway
I don't see it. Not that he isn't a good coach but more so because he loves Stanford, alum and is basically going to get a blank check regardless of how he does the next several years because the alumni base sees the good in a dominant program.

Mind you this is the same program who thought about dropping down to ivy league for football because they couldn't compete ten years ago. They are going to do everything and anything to never let that happen.

Shaw needs to get Pep or Roman in there to run the O next season, and demote Bloomgren back to OL coach.

Wouldn't be mad if Stanford went back to 4-8, 5-7 territory, their do they right way narrative is annoying.

They won't but whoever is in charge of their marketing on twitter needs to be fired. Their graphics about starting income for Stanford graduates they put out was so lame, yeah they make $30-40,000 more but it's dumb expensive to live here. Stuff like that needs to be scrapped.
