A JB store is supposed to be opening in AA soon.  I assume the players will get some pairs before big games like Oregon does, but hopefully some of these drop when the new store is opened.

Devin Asiasi showed up to fall came at 287.  He's probably destined for OT or DT in about a year or so.

Wow @ Asiasi.

JB Store would get all of my $
They need the athleticism at OT anyways if that's where he ends up.

In 15 & 16 Newsome was really the only true OT that they took.  Most believe Bredeson is going to end up a G, which is why they have loaded up at OT in 17 so far.

Wheatley Jr could grow into an OL although I've heard he's super athletic for his size.

[@=/u/37991/dreClark]@dreClark[/@] Pie young switched jersey numbers from 17 to 83 and has been playing both ways in camp.
So he's about to focus on WR?

I'd say no way he sees more than minimal time on the field as a WR this year (we're 11 deep at that position right now) but I'm guessing since he's prob 6th or so on the CB depth chart and Ykili would prob play ahead of him there too, the coaches are being fair and letting him try to earn playing time at the position he really wants to play.

Many thought Asiasi was a better DE than TE, though he was an awesome TE.

Idk about putting him at OT though.

No mention of SC landing 4 players this week, including two - Hunter Echols and Alijah Vera-Tucker - top ten linemen?

Class went from 42nd ranked to 14th overnight.

The road to PT might be quicker, and it will probably be an easier transition since he's spending this season with the O anyways.  There's an opening at RT next season, and there might be an opening at LT in 18 if Newsome is a 3 and done.

Gary's probably got SDE locked up for the next three years, and they want a 9 tech type at WDE.

Seems like all of those murmurs about him going to OT have died down

Was t the spring game or just a spring practice where they said he made a one handed snag in traffic then took it to the house, outrunning DB's?

It was the Spring practice at Ford Field.

Dude looked like Gronk on that play.

I'm excited about him this season.  He's down to 276 after showing up last season at like 295.

Could you talk about Jabrill Peppers’ versatility and how you balance taking advantage of his many talents but not wearing him out?

“I always feel like there’s…in football it’s very common to be a two-way player. Normally that’s offense and special teams, playing two ways, or also a defensive player and special teams.

“Jabrill, and also there will be other candidates—Jourdan Lewis would be another—to be three-way players: offense, defense, and special teams. Feel like around that 90, 95 play—100 being really high—per game. But somewhere in there there’s a sweet spot, depending on the mental capability of the athlete. In terms of load, it’d be 95-100. {That’s] probably the max that we’re looking at right now. Did that answer your question?”

Yo mentioned three-way player Jourdan Lewis. Are you thinking of giving him a look at receiver?

“Yeah, yeah. On offense I think there’s multiple ways that he could contribute offensively. We know that he can as a returner, hold-up person, gunner, kick and punt returner. He’s got those abilities and capabilities. Not going too far out on a limb to say that he can help us offensively as well.”
I honestly thought JD was a better receiver coming out of Cass.

How excited are you to get the season started? It’s like Christmas Day, or probably feels [like it].

“Yeah. It’s the beginning of the year. It’s one of the two special days, to me, in the entire calendar. I’ve said it before: a lot of people look at January 1st being the start of the new year. People look, those who espouse Christianity, Catholicism, look at Christmas as the start of the liturgical year, but us in football, first day of preseason training camp is the new year.

“It’s like being reborn into football. Coming out of the womb into the bright light, into the chaos, into everybody looking at you. It’s where the team’s forged, under the sun in the August heat. Sun shaping the body, carving the mind. Very excited.”

Asiasi is 6'3, highly doubt he is going to the OL... Kid will drop some weight like TWJr and be ready to play easily by next year... Kid is a stud TE but has some real good talent ahead of him... Give him some time

Jack Sears to Duke. Was between them and SC, but Duke has been on him from the start and it paid off. Huge recruiting coup for them.

It's looking like SC has to go all out on flipping Tua, kick the tires on Chase Garbers (he said he'd jump on an SC offer if he gets one) or be content with Matt Corrall in 2018 being the QB of the future and possibly (probably?) a day 1 starter.
