My Co-worker used to be pretty high up at EA, he's out until Monday but I'll ask him when he gets back.

Last time we chatted about it he said 2020 at the latest.

Chip Brown of Horns Digest reports that Texas will pursue Notre Dame senior QB Malik Zaire as a graduate transfer.
Texas whiffed in its chase of LSU quarterback Brandon Harris -- Harris chose North Carolina -- and will now turn its attention to another marquee grad transfer.

Horns HC Tom Herman has expressed interest in adding a veteran signal-caller to compete with sophomore Shane Buechele (the incumbent starter) and true freshman Sam Ehlinger. According to reports, Zaire was considering Wisconsin, Baylor and North Carolina immediately after he announced he'd leave Notre Dame. Since then, both Baylor and UNC have signed grad transfer quarterbacks.

Michigan added former S Jordan Kovacs to the "staff".

1 year left, don't think you can risk going to a team where there is a better than decent chance that you might not even start.

Why Jim Harbaugh Took a Shot at Trump’s Budget
http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/03/jim-harbaugh-politics-michigan-football-coach-trump-budget-214948
Quote:
Harbaugh, it turns out, is a part of the leaders council of the LSC (along with baseball great Hank Aaron). The LSC’s current budget allocation of $385 million funds programs that provide legal aid in civil cases—everything from foreclosures and evictions to child custody and restraining orders against an abusive partner—to over 1.8 million low-income people across the country. Harbaugh got on the phone recently to talk about how he got involved in this cause, where he draws the line for coaches when it comes to political engagement, his go-to quote from the Federalist Papers and what he thinks of being compared to Trump and Obama.
Quote:
Politico Magazine: Why did you get involved in LSC and what are the consequences of defunding the program?

Jim Harbaugh: I got involved two years ago. Some people say 'Why is a football coach concerned?' I explained I'm an American first and all Americans should care about justice. The idea, as you learn about our legal system, [is] the danger of not being able to have access to justice. From what I can see it's that, if you have money you have access to justice. If you don't, it's becoming increasingly less and less access for low-income Americans and that's the crux of it. I mean, to have a society that has liberty and justice for all, it's right there in the constitution. And LSC is the largest funder of civil legal aid in our nation.
Quote:
Politico: Have you met with President Trump at all since he became president?

Harbaugh: No, I have not.

Politico: Have you tried pinging Obama also?

Harbaugh: Have I talked to President Obama since the election? Yes, I have.

Herman pimp.gif

We don't come here to play school laugh.gif

Second Wiseman shared this one with me---which I hadn't heard before...

"One of the backstories that I haven't seen told before is the very close relationship between Tom Herman and Cardale Jones.

Jones' time at Ohio State was rocky at best to start--and at many times Jones contemplated transferring--and actually went into Herman's office at one point to inform him of that decision..

Now keep in mind, this was in the wake of Jones' ill-advised tweet regarding his disdain for schoolwork and Jones wasn't exactly tearing it up in the classroom.

Jones sat down and told Tom he was leaving. And Tom's response was classic.

"Cardale you have to be the smartest "dumb guy" that I've ever met in my life. You have all the tools and none of the discipline. You are smart and you like to play dumb. You love to talk about how much you hate school when you have the potential to be a great scholar. That sums up how you approach the position of QB. Its like you are afraid to be good"

Jones was clearly taken aback, as he hadn't expected a response like that from Coach Herman. So there was silence in the room for a long time.

Finally, Coach Herman leaned in and said "Cardale...you are going to stay here. You are going to be a great quarterback here. And you are going to graduate from here. And the day you graduate---I will be there waiting for you to shake your hand"

So Cardale goes on and does his thing and wins a title. Goes on to get a contract in the NFL. And most importantly will walk down the aisle this May with a diploma in his hand.

And you know who will be there waiting for him? Coach Herman---who has never forgotten his promise to him--and who is dropping everything else to make sure he is there in person...

That's just the type of guy Tom is......"

just thought you would enjoy...

Lane Kiffin denies using 'Joey Freshwater' alias but says he's used a different one

In an interview this week, the FAU head coach denied he’d used Freshwater as an alias.

"No, I have not," Kiffin told Fox’s Clay Travis in a radio interview flagged down by AL.com. "I've used Jimmy Chestnut but not Joey Freshwater."
