It's a school for geniuses man.

Had no idea Cal was THAT prestigious in terms of academics.
Esp after watching Goff on Hard Knocks.
Learn something new everyday.

Marshawn Lynch, Desean Jackson, jarred Goff
its not

Yes it is. Maybe they don't really expect anything from the football players, but Cal is an incredibly prestigious university

Okay fair enough. Still doesn't mean that they hold their players to the same standard as the rest of the students

Stanford certainly doesn't, you only need a 2.0 to remain eligible.

If a kid can actually play, do you really believe that?

They suspended their contributing defensive end for 12 games last year for academic troubles. Bottom line you're not getting into Stanford with below a 3.0, regardless Stanford is really big on grade inflation. You gotta be on something else to get a 2.0 in the classes you're taking. You show up and you're getting a c or better. Plus they have classes for athletes like any other school

the Stanford kids are just natural book smart humans. Those dudes legit want to do great in college.

Some of us need to put in serious work to even maintain a 3.0. And some dudes get out of bed getting straight A's, but have ZERO real world sense.

Its pretty simple.

Helfrich will make a great Offensive coordinator. He's one of the guys that will never be a great coach but will be a great coordinator.

Add Kiffin and Sark in that group.

But these guys can work at smaller programs and succeed as the HC. Just not Oregon or USC as first HC gigs.

I assumed there was a different grading scale over there. The website said cumulative GPA of 2.0

You need above a 3.0 and a (i don't know what the equivalent number is in today's exam) SAT/ACT score to qualify for stanford.

Once you're in, you don't need to be above 3.0 to stay eligible to play. I believe a 2.0 puts you on academic probation at Stanford, but you're nuts if you think McCaffrey with a 2.1 is getting kicked out.

I also don't know if they still do it, but Stanford like Harvard also used to drastically inflate the weight of their classes/GPAs. Kids at Stan and Harv were getting A-'s for work that would have been a C+ elsewhere.
