When the story first broke I looked up her IG and man...


She had this one post about being ready to die at 30.


Her IG is private now but that **** gave me the chills.

Which leads me to believe this may have been premeditated
 
They said a used condom was found near her body. So maybe it was premeditated or someone was looking for someone, anyone to attack.


Really saddening part is that her pops found her body first.


There can't a worst pain than a parent having to bury their child.

Blows my mind now when I think back. I was so oblivious. With three white kids my age. I'm glad others can confirm my feelings, though. Part of me thought I may have projected that onto the neighborhood after hearing about the history, but looking back there was so much passive aggressive racism that went right over my head. I'm just thankful the families of the girls we were with were cool.

To think there was probably that thought process running through his mind that he would in fact find her in that unfortunate state :smh: .

Howard Beach definitely has a rep, but I have family friends who live there and they are some of the nicest people. Not to mention some of the restaurants are really good.

Btw, I only been to Howard beach a handful of times just to go to petco lol...but ever since they opened one up in forest hills, I have no need to go to HB anymore.

And yes, it's a racist neighborhood but it's really nice at the same time....if that makes any sense.....
 
Used to go there to get the bomb Halloween candy and see their decorations. Cribs would be decked out in Christmas time too. I actually thought of the neighborhood recently when I saw an Italian restaurant owners wife in my neighborhood with a look that had 90s queens written all over her, down to the nails. Thought she mighta been from there but didn't ask.

Either way though I highly doubt that condom had anything to do with it. And it's a really sad situation. RIP

Bruh that's NY in a nutshell. I made a thread (or perhaps someone else did) where I outlined how segregated NY really is.


The northeast is actually far more segregated than the south.


I remember when I used to live out in LI the times I would go dine in upscale Italian restaurants. There was this time me and my partner walked in and sat down and this older lady looked at us and moved her bag closer to her.


Funny part is my shoes alone probably cost more than everything she had in her purse and person.


Smacked a few cats for getting mouthy too in High School.

Lot of these Italians, Jews, Irish cats don't know how to act. Racist AF but think they really hood at the same time.


But truth be told it ain't just white folks. Everybody seems to be on some other **** out there. Though the white folks the ones that definitely created all this division. Everyone else just unknowingly follows their ignorance.

As some people have mentioned before, that particular area was frequented by teens who were doing things they weren't supposed to be doing. The used condom is a clue, but at it can also be from some teenager who used it while he was with his/her friends drinking or doing drugs.

You're lucky. I've met plenty of people who are from Howard Beach and I've always felt the passive aggressive racism from them. It's almost part of the culture living in Howard Beach.

It's gotten much worse for Muslims to be around the area as well.

The restaurants are very nice. But it's still frequented and owned by racist people. I was dating this Jewish girl a few years ago and I took her to this Italian restaurant in Howard Beach. Nothing happened to us, but people in the restaurant kept staring at us. They didn't feel comfortable seeing a Bengali guy with a white Jewish girl.

Very true. HB is a really nice neighborhood. But I'd still prefer not to go there if I didn't have to.

Back in my junior high school days, I used to go to this gifted and talented school out in Queens. It was in a really nice neighborhood. Most of the kids in my class were white. Either Italian, Irish or Jewish.

I've never experienced so much racism and prejudice in my life before. This was from other kids too.

I always believed racism in the northeast was prevalent. Sometimes it's worse than most places in America.

She was so active on social media, you can't help but wonder if a stalker tracked down her location in the city.... truly is awful. I hope they find him FAST.

I thought about that too. These popular women on ig gotta be careful not to post about their normal routine or where they normally run. Never know who follows you and is waiting for an opportunity.
