I had a similar thought. Him finding the body raised a red flag for me.
I hope the killer isn't a black dude though. The murderer is a piece of crap regardless, but given the history of Howard Beach, the last thing that area needs is for that racial element to come in play given the crummy history there.

I get it she runs that route all the time, but going solo she could have ran along the avenue or residential streets just to play it safe. Howard Beach is pretty busy at all hours.

That's why when my wife runs, I make sure she does it at the gym. Plus, they got the screens where you can choose your outdoor scenery. I ran the road of Hana earlier today and it was beautiful. I didn't wanna leave but I got tired.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole thing....attack happened sometime between 5-7pm and no one saw/heard anything? Must have been completely desolate.

5 to 7 pm is rush hour too with people coming home and stuff. How no one knows nothing at all is crazy to me? Coward Beach stays active during those times.

I don't know if she was an avid runner or not but most of the time you just wanna get away when you go for a run and mentally checkout. That was probably as close to nature as you can get in that area. Also, the dirt path is easier on the feet.
Sorry to say, but if a girl looking like this is out running on public streets she is not going to hear the end of it when it comes to cars honking and dudes yelling at her. My guess is she already been through that scenario. It's a tough choice: run in public view and get harassed or run somewhere secluded but risk the very unlikely chance of getting violently assaulted.

Or maybe a few of us live close to howard beach, know someone from Howard beach, have mutual friends with the family that lives in Howard Beach or are curious because of the history and rep of Howard Beach.

seems like this was planned...probably some creeper that knew her patterns and took advantage when he saw she ventured into that area alone...
she was probably well enough known from social media and the party circuit and its not very hard to tail someone to where they live and stalk them throughout their day, especially in suburbany type areas (which this seems to be) where lots of people have some sort of sense of security...

Interesting. He's the son of Peter Gotti, whom I remember from the show Growing Up Gotti. He was the one who was supposedly on the straight and always giving pep talks to Victoria's 3 sons keeping them in line. Now his own son getting popped for drugs in his own house, the house John Sr. raised them in. Is the Gambino family still active?
