Thats closer to kd 7 material and at least the shoe has layers which is a nice surprise and the kd7 was actually a comfortable shoe

I'm 28 years old. The only Kyrie's that look decent are the Kyrie 3's the other two are Butt Fart! The Kyrie 3's reminds me of the Kobe 7's (that probably why i like them).

Well I'm sure the purpose of the strap is for a more locked down feel, but definitely also to break up the shoe more. If there was no strap would make it easier for people to say it's just a basic model 
 
Without the strap it could easily pass as the Kobe IV or V or VI.

Not an expert but the strap might help with the negative space above the foot especially since it looks like the laces do not go all the way down underneath the strap.
 
It also looks like there is no tongue. The strap could help pull from the medial side to conform more to the foot. Can't wait to try them on!

I bet that strap is marketed for quicker response time as it will eliminate any dead space on the forefoot and make you react faster.
 
take the strap off, these are kd 9s. Elites. with the updated sole.


they look weak on feet, but probably because pg foot is huge. I also with that colorway was a bit darker. Too much white/light grey for the court. I dig the swoosh color change tho.

strap looks pointless with its current location and could actually lead to injury based on the natural bend of the foot and putting the strap there. Doesnt seem like it would actually help with lockdown.

I like the shoe, but I don't love it. it looks cool, but the design doesnt really flow aesthetically. I want a pair to ball in, hopefully they don't mess me up, I'm in a contract year :tongue:
