Do you let police search your car?

Nope. Black man.

I'm not a **** to the police because I'm not trying to get killed, but I'm not a pushover either. My response when dealing with the police is "am I under arrest?" No? "I have nothing to say."

As a black man I've said no and yes

When I said no, they searched my car anyways and trashed it because my left tail light went out

When I said yes, they trashed my car anyways. Infinitis driven by black men in Milwaukee are either drug dealers or stolen cars apparently

I try my best to just cooperate and get on with my day.

Yeah I let them search it, if I say no it's not like they'll respect my wishes anyway

Sure. Might as well force them to waste some time looking for nothing.

NORMALLY I don't give a crap. But one time......

I was super pissed about getting pulled over too much.

Long story short, guy asked to search my car.
I told him I didn't consent.
He said that's fine but I had to get out of the car.
He just patted me down at that point, then told me I was free to go.

I don't ride dirty and when confronted by cops I act as a POW. Unfortunately they have power and can do things to me with no repercussion so I play it safe for my own well being. I ain't trying to be a hashtag

**** no yall are stupid if you let a police search your car

 that's the only reason why I refused that one time. I just had a bad feeling dude was gonna destroy my car to prove a point or something lol. I was pretty shook when he actually said "that's fine, if you don't consent, then I won't."

I was fully expecting to get shot or at least beat with the stick

It don't matter to me.... I throw my beer cans out when I'm finished...

They can search all they want, they will be highly disappointed.

Had this 1 cop tell my homie, "If I even think there's something in that car I'll rip the motor and transmission outta there to find it"..... I believed him too.smh

My homie did have a box of sandwich bags and a half oz in his pocket smh. That's how he got caught.smh like who sits there with Reynolds wrap and a half oz in there pockets?

Made that mistake first time...I knew I my ride was clean so I figured whats the harm? Cop must have been jealous of my car, he called a tow service they unbolted my seats ripped out all interior he could, then said "its breakfast time lets get out of here" left me and my dismantled car on the side of the road. Never again!

DAMN

I'll never forget this COPS episode where they pulled a guy over and had him get out the car and sit on the curb. So the police officer asks "Can I search your car?" and its very obvious the man is reluctant to let him. So the cop keeps asking telling him "Either yes or no" and the man eventually flat out says "no". The cop then says "well I'm still going to search it anyways because I feel you have something"

Look on the dudes face was priceless.

^^where y'all live sheesh. Cops be doin y'all horribly. I'm a black male and hardly been treated poorly. When I'm pulled over I'm hit em wit the respect jus to get the interaction over quickly. I believe the only times police searched my cars was when I was on probation so I had no choice. But police will judge you on what type of car y'all drivin too. Had a 93 caprice and would always get followed. I now I have a Dodge Ram and never get messed with LOL...

Houston I'm a white male and I was in a Navigator. I was respectful the cop was just jealous I think.

When I was in my late teens/early twenties I drove a relatively nice vehicle, and that resulted in the assumption that I must be a criminal (ironically, I am about the least criminal person one could possibly find--never smoked, never drank, go the speed limit, etc.).  So basically I can recall getting pulled over for made up reasons at least four times.  On two of these occasions the police ultimately requested to search my car.  Both times I said "go ahead," because I knew I had absolutely nothing to hide.  They searched, found nothing, and I went on my way.  Of course, I live in a small town and the cops here aren't very intimidating (and getting stopped twice by the Park Rangers--I live near a National Park--was truly hilarious, so much so that I used to enjoy when that happened.  They were kids younger than me with braces trying to tough talk and act like SWAT about to make a big bust and see themselves on the national news).

Eventually I got tired of the attention and decided to downgrade from a Mercedes to a Subaru. I haven't been pulled over since.

So anyway, I always let them search. But when I got tired of the negative attention I resolved the issue simply by getting a crappy car.

If I had time to kill absolutely not. Let them waste everyone's time even the ****** dog. But never had this happen God bless. Terrible having cops dirty and bloody hands looking for nothing in my car.

 cot damn that's foul!! This would be my worst nightmare. Dude ain't liable to pay anything back either. They just hit you with the " now GIT on outta here!" And there's nothing you can do. Meanwhile your whip is damn near on blocks.

Same here I was in early 20s, made really good money bartending (was always heading home from work around 3am), so I bought a nice car my mistake was putting 26's on it. I drive a Benz now all stock, and havent been pulled over in that car except for traffic violation's which I was guilty of.
