2016 has proven to be a particularly prolific stretch for Phonte. The Little Brother vocalist has been a part of some of the year’s most compelling cuts by established experimentalists and new-to-the-game selectors alike, including Kaytranada’s 99.9%, Robert Glasper’s Everything’s Beautiful and RJD2’s Dame Fortune. But that’s not even half the story here. Months ago, Phonte announced that he’s have not one or two, but three new projects of his own out this year, beginning in May with his collaborative Zo! project, Skybreak, and ending with his sophomore solo album No News Is Good News (slated for a September 30th arrival.)

Today, however, we’re in the meat of his 2016 stride with the release of Tigallero; a collaborative project with longtime creative kin Eric Roberson that’s already graced us with a two-stepping treat in “It’s So Easy.” Today, the full suite has arrived with the assistance of an impeccable roster of producers, including Nicolay, Sam Champ, DJ Harrison, Rich Medina, Stro and plenty more. Stream Phonte and Eric Roberson’s Tigallero project down below and if it’s good ya, grab your copy of the album on iTunes today. Hold tight for the arrival of No News Is Good News and whatever else Phonte’s still got up his sleeve.

Gave this a listen yesterday and I really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to Phonte's second solo album in September.

Looked this up on Apple Music...there's no explicit version?

Just making sure because I hate listening to clean versions of albums and on Apple it's easy to get halfway through and not even notice I hate that ****.

Same. I accidentally bought the clean version of Royce's album and didn't immediately notice smh. I don't see any explicit labels on amazon either

Mostly rapping or a mix like the last album?

He hasn't given much details on the album other than it drops Sept 30th and its called "No News Is Good News". I would say the last album was like 70% rapping and 30% singing. If its the same like that I will be fine with it.

Regarding an explicit version. There is just one version of the album. I think Phonte curses once on the entire record hence the lack of an explicit version I guess.

I was feeling this record, but Phonte is one of the illest cats to me. I'm looking forward to his next project too.

Don't listen to R&B much, but I like this. There's very few rappers i want to hear singing, and Phonte is one of them
