Idk man this was much darker than Dope ever was. The stories are pretty similar but the Cleveland setting was a good backdrop for such a darker film....

Just finished watching and it definitely reminds me of Dope in the sense its about teens trying to push weight that they come up on. However as mentioned before, this flick has a really dark vibe to it. The movie is about dreams, friendship, greed and reality. The reality part is what got me the most. Although its not the first "teen drug dealing" movie, I found myself not wanting it to end.
Features MGK, Micheal K Williams (finally not in a gay role), and Ms. Badu.
I cant go out and say it's better than Dope, but it definitely rivals it. It may have a large part to do with the setting in Cleveland. The way the city is presented in The Land, reminds me of City of Gods. Shows how and why the kids do what they do in order to get by to the next day.
Overall I'd give it a 7.5/10
