Haven't really heard anything bad about dudes work ethic either
i have. benitez said he was overweight and out of shape and it's been reported hes a premadonna
you can tell the way he makes all types of gestures when his teammates don't pass him the ball for colombia

and zidane is playing vasquez and asensio for a reason. my guess is james's attitude.

there has got to be some reason two completely different managers with different philosophies seem to not want to play this dude.

Another accomplished,CL winning manager like Ancelotti trusted him though,he must've seen something in him given the fact that he had a career year under him

It isn't politics. Zidane right when he came in made it clear it was the team over individuals. Playing the likes of Casemiro and Vasquez while not losing since who knows when and having Isco, James, Morata, Asensio, and Kovacic on the bench isn't politics. It's Zidane putting fit, results, and balance over talent.

Running with Kroos as a holding mid like Carlo and Zizou early in his tenure, and playing the more talented and expensive Spaniard in Isco over Casemiro in spite of results would have been politics. Playing the €80mil superstar in James over the unheralded Kovacic would have been politics. Winning isn't politics.

I'm not knocking Zidane, dude knows what he's doing 150%. Just thought that James was gonna be Real's main #10 for years to come since he was a Galactico signing and its not even like he flopped at all. Crazy how fast situations changed. Now about 1.5 years and 2 managers later,he's a fringe player almost :x

Don't really wanna see him in England outside of at OT though ,he'd do some damage on the other top sides

They played a different formation 4-2-3-1 if I remember with James the center of that 3 like he plays for Colombia. He wasn't asked to track back ever. Zizou is having none of that. Even though Carlo got the CL, that team was horribly unbalanced and he over relied on the starters

but that was right after they bought him. they had to play james no matter what

It worked out pretty well for both though no? Dude was in form and helped contribute to La Decima. Guess he's just a victim of Real's instability. Shame for him though since now that they finally seem to be stable for the near future,he's not even in their plans  :x

Trust me man, myself and other Madrid fans in the beginning would get tight when Real's Andre Miller equivalent in Lucas Vasquez would play over James, or come in as a substitute before James. And then the results started coming in, Zizou's seat got less hot and you realize as a fan to just let that man make the decisions.

I thought too after Ronnie was done James and Bale would be carrying the attack. But it comes down to a matter of fit and system. James deserves to be a starter and over here he can just be a rotation player which he's better than.

Juventus' #10 is currently vacant. :nerd:

I bet Cuadrado is on James' speed dial.

I wouldn't say he's a victim of instability, he just didn't fit with the personnel. When you have Modric already, then swap Xabi for Kroos, you need a DM to sit behind them so they can be at their best and orchestrate. Kroos and Modric's abilities would be wasted in a 4-2-3-1 where James can be a 10, and they wouldn't be able to carry that defensive responsibility for a whole season. Ronnie and especially Bale are wide players. Bale's talents would go to waste in say a 4-4-2 diamond set up where James can play his #10 position. The next issue is then if one of the front 3 are out, James can't play as a winger and isn't a #9. I think Real needed time for players to settle in transitioning from the Ozil, Di Maria, Xabi era.

Tl;dr when all the pieces finally settled James didn't fit.

where is james gonna go though?
chelsea would've been good but he's not worth 70 million

Man I don't even know tbh. He could take Matuidi's midfield spot.

But I keep forgetting we still have Pastore, Krychowiak, Jese, and Ben Arfa... So many players for similar positions already.

But if they go after James, I could see all of them outside of Krychowiak leaving. He's more of a Motta replacement where the rest of them play more forward. James is that superstar replacement the club needs

**** it. Overload in January and sort it out in June

All of this. If James could play on the wing he would be getting more burn. He lacks the pace to be there full time at RM.

Even so though he needs to be more than a rotational player

Come on James, you can take all the free kicks you want over here

Lmfao Ronnie out her hitting free kicks into the wall all the time. I realized son's mentality is, "if I hit it into the stands it looks really bad, so I'll just set my calibration to lower and even though I won't score as often at least I'll never be embarrassed kicking it into the stands. That's better than scoring a few more times."

And Suarez already learning that #croqueta from Iniesta. My mans Suarez is gonna get the ball rolling on his career

We talked about this plenty before, Vasquez is Zidane's man 100 grand cause of work rate and much to my dismay.

He's Spanish Jesse Lingard.
no homo but dude is ripped. There was a pic posted in here of the RM dressing room and I though I was looking at Ronaldo for a sec...paws

I still think Wenger is not at fault for Arsenal's cheapness. To me the cheapness combined with the highest ticket prices in Europe point to Kroenke only caring about maximizing profits. The only way Arsenal will ever spend money to compete on the level of the other big clubs is if they start missing out on the $$$ gained from being in the CL going forward
