I think it stops with VAR. idk how else more can you do in soccer without catching even more flack.
Tbh I think it comes down to personal preference. I rather hear complaints that the VAR interrupts the flow of the game but they get the call right rather than the fans screaming that the game is rigged and "NO ERA PENAL" when their team gets jobbed by a mistaken call or non call.

That takes a way a MASSIVE part of the game of footy. Momentum and flow of the game is so crucial. Once that's messed with, you're changing how the game operates.

I rather have my team lose momentum than see a missed call by a ref that makes my team lose points or elimination.

Like I said, it's a personal preference. I prefer getting the call right over seeing a team get jobbed multiple times even if play could get disrupted. I see your point, but I don't feel like VAR will disrupt the overall equilibrium of play. Perhaps we will actually see more fair play with VAR.

VAR won't get better if it's not used these are growing pains we are seeing right now. Two major areas of improvement is that it needs to try keep the review under a minute players are usually celebrating in that same amount of time anyway so no flow disrupted and if players decide to instead not celebrate and wait for the call that's fine too as long as it can be done as quickly as possible. If it takes longer than that refs need to add on the correct amount of addded time

Second major area of improvement they have to stop pointing the camera at the ref during the review for the TV audience. In that 30sec-1 minute time frame show the camera angle with the pines the VAR is looking at so fans know.

We will never see these improvements if we don't at least try and most importantly yesterday everytime it was used to determine if it was goal it was the correct call was made.

Vidal was pissed when Chile's first goal was correctly changed to be ruled offside BUT once he saw the review he realized they got nothing to complain about cause it was the correct call.

After the rage, the Bayern Munich midfielder acknowledged that the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) is a breakthrough for football .

"It's a bit strange to wait for the camera, but you have to get used to it , it's things that are going to help improve football,"

Like me and Eddie saying we would much rather deal with this and making sure the correct call was made keeping the game fair than have **** refs cost teams points

@trey ohh five how do you feel about replay reviews in soccer?
You're sheep if you support VAR now? roll.gif

Much rather be a sheep in that case than leave it down to 'human error' laugh.gif

There's way too many controversy over certain calls as it is, eliminating the doubt would be huge imo and if it works the way it did yesterday,as in not even taking more than 2 mins,I'm all for it.

In silly news,Mbappe told Monaco he wants to go to Real?

Also I'd like to point out the moment VAR was used yesterday and didn't effect the flow of the game at all. It was Chicharito's equalizer in the first half, in the time he and his teammates where celebrating in the background they reviewed it saw it was legit and just went along no need to even announce it or wait they just told the head ref in his ear legit quickly and play went along like normal. Over the course of the year most goals are like that and if VAR was used it wouldn't even be noticed in those situations because it was reviewed in the same time the players are already stopping the flow of the game to celebrate.

The goal is to have the review take place in the same time players are already naturally disrupting the flow of the game (celebrating/complaining to the ref like they already do on contentious goals). This is what it will look like most of the time if it is allowed to continue to improve yesterday if we learned anything its that two goals would have been wrongfully allowed and one wrongfully taken away because of poor reffing if it wasn't for VAR

It is something to get used to but I don't mind VAR. I'm not sure how the screen the refs are looking at is set up but I feel as though there should be lines that are able to detect/ track on the screen the second to last defender during live play so they don't have to rewind multiple times. Always room for improvement.

This is the camera the VAR look at. they showed it in the second half but it would have been better if they showed us this same camera with the lines the VAR was looking at at the same time the play went down so the fans will not have to wait to see why the call was (correctly) overturned.

Roma was working on an extension for Nain. But if he leaves I'll more than be happy with Seri. United better sign Nain.

Yup, summer of 2013. Guy I know who used to play in the Premier League told me that his friends over at United were certain he was going back that summer. This was before la Decima so CR7 really hadn't won much at Real yet.

What a legend. Netherlands should've won that '74 WC.

Still the best footballing nation to never win a WC.

Who really believes it's gonna happen though? Most folks think it's a plot to either get a pay raise or have Real make his tax trouble go away.

Only thing that's changed is the number of outlets reporting on it laugh.gif
