Super chill dude
I could go on and on but these are just a few influential people I look up to and admire

1. BB King
One of the most influential blues players I've ever heard. Such an inspiration to see his story and how he reigned as King of the Blues. (And still does) His music lives on and inspires me and many others musicians daily.

2.) John Mayer
My dude went to Berklee College of Music (one of the most prestigious music schools in the country) and dropped out after 2 semesters to tour and record music. Obviously he reached fame. Hard work, dedication, and making good music still works in this day and age.
Not to mention his impressive list of bitties he has been w/ :pimp:

3.) Hopsin
Dude built his record label from the ground up.. regardless of recent departures I still admire his work and dedication to making things happen. And they did.

4.) Eric Thomas
Motivational speaker.. one of the best in the game. :pimp: nuff said.

Malcolm X- no apologies, no sugarcoating, just the heart of a lion and a list of very fair demands.

Tesla- everybody else did it for me.

Ali- **** yo' belt, I'd rather shoot you racist *************. Also a pretty fair boxer.

Garvey- may have had the right idea.

Hendrix- try to think of another black musician in that era who was as loved by everyone for his pure undeniable talent?  I'll wait. it's sad how he went and It pisses me off, but his two-album legacy is what BIG's wants to be 50 years from now. 'nuff said.

John Frusciante- creative force behind the Red Hot Chili Peppers' golden years and one hell of a guitarist to boot. guy almost died several times dealing with his drug issues, but I honestly believe music helped keep him alive and that level of connection to a craft speaks to me.

Tony Romo- yeah, all right, let it out...I'll wait.

seriously, if somebody else had gone from undrafted free agent scrub from Southeast Nowhere State, rode the bench for a few years then became a high level NFL starter for a decade with almost any other team, he'd be almost universally loved. you wanna talk about starting from the bottom? guy's only on the team today because the planned starting QB in 2004 got popped for coke in training camp, awarding his spot by default to the then fourth-stringer. I think I'd like that story even if I wasn't a diehard Cowboys fan.

Dave Chappelle- I want to sit in a room with this man and converse in thick smoke for at least one full day.

----SEPARATE SPACE----

I will mention Hitler in a separate space. I don't necessarily "admire" him for obvious *** reasons, but let's look at the facts: the guy gets out of prison, assumed political power, ascended to the peak of his country's government in less than a decade, convinced his friends, neighbors and countrymen to commit years of mass murder on charisma and promises, oversaw the building of the most technologically advanced society the world had ever known to that point AND DAMN NEAR CONQUERED A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF HUMANITY...all within his own lifetime.

that, friends, is ambition. dark, powerful, destructive ambition...perhaps the ultimate modern example of one man's potential.

yes, the things he did were ruthless beyond belief and humanity still feels the negative effects of his pursuit of power today, but consider that an equal force for altruistic good in the world would be a literal sick-healing, peace-bringing, international fish-fry hosting Jesus walking the earth.

okay, time to create a new account I guess.

Gilbert Arenas- Read this article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/28/AR2006102800830.html
- Raised by a crack addict mom as a kid
- Dad took custody of him and they moved to LA to pursue his dad's Hollywood dreams
- The two lived in a car while his dad desperately searched for work

- Became HS basketball star

- Got an offer from Arizona where critics said he'd play zero minutes, accepted the offer, and chose 0 as his jersey number

- Led Arizona to the National Championship game

- Declared for the NBA draft, was told by the Kings they'd take him with the 28th pick who then passed on him as he fell to the second round

- Felt Mike D'Antoni pre-determined the Team USA roster so he withdrew from tryouts, then promised to score 50 on D'Antoni's Suns, which he did

- Scored 60 on Kobe, had NBA record for points in OT till Steph broke it this year

- NBA All-Star Game starter in 2007

- Donated $100 to DC schools for each point he scored at home in 2006-2007

- Befriended and funded a kid whose parents died in a fire

- Donated a playoff bonus to a Wizards' equipment manager to pay for his daughter's medical expenses

- Always interacted with the fans through social media and gave away some of his sneaker collection on Twitter
Caron Butler-

- Drug dealer at age 11
- Arrested 15 times by age 15

- Went to prison for firearm and cocaine possession

- Originally played basketball for donuts and candy, while in solitary he would watch a basketball court outside his window and decided to take the sport seriously

- Once released, vowed to change and got a job working at Burger King where he was teased by friends

- Police were tipped that was cocaine at his house, they stormed the house, handcuffed him, and started searching

- Police found some in the garage, but Butler swore it wasn't his

- Despite having the evidence to sentence him to 10+ years, one officer saw the sincerity in Butler's eyes and decided to believe him

- Scholarship to UCONN

- x2 NBA All-Star

- 2011 NBA Champion

- Involved in all kinds of charitable work, donated more than $200,000 to his hometown

- Now owns 6 Burger King restaurants
MF DOOM- http://www.thehiphop-foundation.com...ask-and-the-industry-that-badly-deformed-him/
- Formed the rap group KMD with his brother Subroc
- Received some buzz after their first album

- Was set to release their next album when DOOM's brother was hit by a car and died

- Record label refused to release the album due to the cover art depicting a Sambo caricature being hanged and dropped the group

- Was borderline homeless

- Moved to Atlanta where he began performing at open mic nights with a stocking over his head

- Created the MF DOOM moniker based on comic book villain, Doctor Doom

- Swore revenge on the rap industry that "badly deformed him" the way Doctor Doom swore revenge on the world after his face was scarred in a labratory accident

- Began wearing a mask to represent Doctor Doom and the belief that it should be about the skill, not the commercialized appearance of an artist

- Went on to become one of the most well-regarded underground rap artists of all time

Pops -- took two Ls in a row from my biological mother (egg donor) and raised us solo until he found us an upgrade. Did his business thing for a minute, but like all of my male role models, got caught up with the females. :smh:

Mom -- straight up boss. Taught me to check people when needed and not to be a sucker. Plus she handles business.

Uncle Larry R.I.P -- the wildest 60 year old dude I knew. Straight up West Coast OG type of dude. Not the best husband or father, but he was cool af and stayed in a fly whip. Did what HE wanted and dgaf who had something to say.

Uncle Robbie from the 9th ward -- crazy *** dude. Was about that LIFE and a player from the Himalayas. Got some game observing him over the years. Had stories for days. His post Katrina jail stories had me dying. How he ko'd a dude for singing a song that annoyed him in the jernt. My dude threw a brick through a Waffle House window on gp one time. My man was always in and out.

I read obituaries and think about the good that people do in the course of their lives. I also reflect on the things that I have yet to do by want to accomplish before I die. Reminds me that nothing is promised, life is short and I have things to do before all is said and done.
