Anyone here ever had a vasectomy?

I actually follow a few youtubers who are single and had the procedure done hassle-free.

I've been with my girl for 5 years and we both don't want kids. I'm damn near terrified of having them.

My pull-out game is strong but inbetween her periods I'm deathly afraid she's pregnant everytime.

Cant live like dat, b.

I've had it done. Everything works fine they just cut the sperm off. But they are def going to ask you to make sure. It's reversible but expensive

Just had my second kid w the wife and even though i dont have a son, im pretty sure we are done. Unless we win the lotto in the next year or so, i will have the procedure done.

how old are you?

My advice to the younger guys is that you may think you never want kids now but that can definitely change as you get older. I had those same feelings when I was in my 20s and now I am slowly starting to change my opinion on the idea of kids. I have had some close friends and family have the same 'we never want kids' feelings, people I NEVER thought would have kids, eventually end up having kids and being super excited about it. I guess my point is to wait, because if you do have a change of hearthe it may be too late.

I got it dont twice.

Long story short,

The procedure is an outpatient procedure. You go in, get it done and youre out. Not with me. One of the "Pipes"had veins wrapped around it and they couldnt cut it.

Even though they do local anesthesia, you can still feel them moving things around.

After they failed to complete the procedure, I was sent home with some Vicodin and was told to put a bag of frozen peas on my sack to calm the swelling and pain.

I was told I need to go back 3 months later and have it done like an operation. I was knocked out completely and the procedure was done.

This was 11 years ago and have been great ever since. Ive been with my wife for 17 years and not wearing condoms has been the best feeling.

I was given the option to freeze my little buddies but at the time I wasnt making that much money to keep them in the bank. Besides, they only last 5 years.

ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK.

My dad had it done after he had me
It's not necessarily a permanent procedure, a good surgeon can do the procedure but allow the possibility of reversing it.

Forgot to add the following,

-Most doctors will not (or arent allowed) to do it unless you have 2 kids. If you have 0-1 children, they will ask you to talk it over with your wife or simply not do it.

-The Vasectomy is a form of birth control and its covered by your insurance. Only thing you have to pay for is the co-pay the doctors office charges.

-After you get the procedure done, you must "clear your pipes" at least 20 times before you have unprotected sex. On the 21st load, you must take that to your doctors and have them check it out to see if anyone is swimming.

I turn 30 next month.

I hear you, but ever since i could remember having a child never appealed to me. Never had the desire to have one. It's a reflection of my world view and who I know myself to be. And that person won't regret it.

Sucks you had that complication. I appreciate you sharing the story. Im 100% committed, I've just never went under the knife for anything. It's always worried me.

Thought about doing this.... But I can't in good faith mess with the jewels.

almost literally the last thing on earth I need is a kid, but man the whole "junk surgery" concept just seems so...invasive. I'm the kind of guy who prefers not to be sedated and cut open.

*waits patiently for Vasalgel*

Nice to see that there is some sort of standardized resistance in-place for people who may probably change their minds later down the road.

To answer some peoples concerns--Yes, you can reverse a vasectomy. Here's a link educating on the procedure, risks and possible effects: http://attainfertility.com/article/vasectomy-reversal-success
