Ryan Lochte and other US Swimmers Lie About Robbery in Rio

Ryan Lochte's attorney, Jeff Ostrow, tells ESPN that since Lochte gave his statement to authorities on Sunday night, he has yet to hear from Brazilian authorities or anyone else connected to the investigation asking to speak with Lochte or provide further information. "The authorities know how to get in touch with me. And we would cooperate," Ostrow said. "But I haven't heard from anyone."

Clowns. Definitely something fishy about this story. No reason to make that up unless you're a compulsive liar or hiding something

Yes I agree. The whole "tough guy" act made the story fishy from the beginning.

where is the ****** angle coming from? Is that just where the mind goes to try to understand why they would lie about this?

how did the story leak initially? did he reach out to media first or did he tell someone else this story and they went to the media and the media followed up with him to get that beach interview he did?

even if they had something to hide... going to the media in any form with any story is odd. First thought would be "if anybody asks... this is what happened" not "lets tell the media we got robbed last night"

People are getting robbed left and right down there. Placed is a **** hole

That has nothing to do with the incident at hand. The fact that Brazil has this type of reputation is why Lochte and them fellas made up that bs story. Shame on them for trying to F up that countries reputation while the spotlight is on them. Good that Brazilian police are doing a thorough investigation to repair their image.

i wonder what he was really out there doin he wanted to lie about it? :nerd:

Exactly! It had to be some crazy **** to go out of your way to make up a story as crazy and extreme as that.

Here's what I think happened. They got drunk, on the way home they stopped at the gas station and messed up the bathroom. Somebody called the cops, but before the cops got there they have some money and bounced. Then as a cover up they say they were robbed.

I mean I guess destroying the bathroom would count as a crime but it's not a huge deal of they paid for it.

Why would people destroy a bathroom though? I don't understand how liquor makes some people extreme ********, and douche bags.

You have to be a naive person to believe the story he gave. I knew from the jump it was a lie.[/quote]

right, who the hell says "whatever" when they hear that hammer cock.

Curious as to how you knew HE was lying when dozens (AND DOZENS) of people have been robbed down there in the last month?

the part where he said that his teammates were on the ground at gun point, and he didn't go to the ground until he got the gun put to his head...
Basically him being the tough guy of the group made me believe it didn't happen like the way he said it...Bomani and LeBatard said that when it was first reported.

Public intoxication seems like the most likely scenario here. Alcohol can turn an otherwise seemingly normal person into a violent instigator.

It's either that or drugs, but I doubt they'd be foolish enough to snort some coke or something and ransack a bathroom, assuming they get drug tested.
