I just woke up and looked closely in the mirror today and noticed I have a little gum recession in between two of my teeth. It's called a "black triangle," basically inbetween your teeth a little pocket of the gum is gone which creates a tiny triangle. t's not noticeable unless you're up close but this **** ain't a good look regardless and I don't want it to get worse, so I did some more research into gum disease and it is a scary thing and can get real bad pretty fast. Apparently 47% of American adults have periodontal disease and for those 65+ and older, 70.1% have periodontal disease. This is why a lot of old people end up losing their teeth.

I'm legit frightened bruhs. I'm literally about to change everything up, no soda, avoid sweets, about to order an electronic toothbrush, floss regularly, start going to the dentist regularly, etc.

What's your routine like?

Brush and get those plackers aka floss sticks

Those are money between meals and floss good as hell

I brush twice a day with my off hand.
2 minutes.
Then mouthwash
Brush youre tounge too.

I dont floss everyday. I floss after i eat meats.

Flossing is the most important thing you can do for your teeth, even more than brushing. Without flossing all that food in between teeth collect and will cause some serious damage.

Brush twice a day with mouthwash/ floss session afterwards.

Floss after every meal

There were some new studies on flossing this month that were really interesting.

Just google "new studies on flossing"

Yeah, flossing seems to help a lot. Gets the food inbetween the terth out and plaque. People's gums bleed if they floss because of plaque build up.

I've done coconut oil pulling to make my mouth more clean. Also use tumeric as a natural whitener for my teeth. Need to try some peroxide and baking soda too.

Go get it cleaned and checked by a dentist. Some things you simply can't do.

I had my dentist appointment last week and they showed me the proper way to brush. Which seems ridiculous but most people probably brush wrong. You gotta pay extra attention to where The teeth meet the gun line, basically brushing your gums. Floss every night and use antiseptic mouth wash.

Rinse your mouth after you have coffee and any sugary foods/drinks.

Dental hygiene is no joke and waiting for your yearly cleaning to fix things will catch up sooner or later

yo, brush BOTH SIDES of your teeth my g.

put some elbow grease and a decent amount of time into it.

all yall fools outchea brushin yall teeth for 30 seconds got dirty mouths g.

after you done, get the listerine and sizzle that **** word to ghost.

It was a joke
Although sometimes when I'm really tired I might not do it :smh:

Yeah that's the most difficult thing. You're lounging and watching TV and you fall asleep on the couch. Good luck making that trip to the bathroom to brush ya teeth

I dont eat after a certain time so i just brush and floss then. After that its only water to drink (i dont mess with soda anyways). So when i start getting tired i just pass out no worries.

yea I know I should but that 3am exhaustion gets to me :smh:

What toothpastes/mouthwash yall rockin wit?

I tried a water pik, idk if it was the brand or what but i felt like it was useless. Id rather floss the regular way.

I have pretty bad gum recession. Here's what my dentist recommends:

- Floss after every meal

- Soft bristle toothbrush -- brush after every meal

- Sensodyne -- ideal for sensitive gums

- Water pik -- use after flossing to get rid of any excess stuff between your teeth

- Interdental brush -- good for getting in between your teeth + gum health

Did it continue to get worse after you stopped all your bad habits? Once you started your routine did the gum disease get cured?
This is the bad part about gum recession -- you can't get it back.

I brushed too hard, flossed until my gums bled, etc. Now I'm recovering them, but the damage is done. It's all about maintenance now and making sure my gums are healthy, don't bleed, etc.

It definitely sucks because I can't drink/eat ice cold stuff, etc.
