What's wrong with it at present?
Haven't owned a pair of XI lows except for the 01's of this pair so don't know.

'01 pairs were made of a single piece of mesh so the tongue laid flat. New pairs have two pairs of mesh stitched together at an angle that makes the tongue stick up and curl around your ankle. Same thing Nike has been doing on all models since '09 or so but it absolutely ruins these on feet for me.
