Jordan 11 Low "Barons" - Spring 2017

Someone asked about seeing these in person. I never badger a store employee, but oftentimes they will just go back and grab stuff. Especially at stores that aren't necessarily sneakerhead shops as they get excited to find someone else into Jordans. I saw these in person like a month ago when I stopped in asking if they were getting the Barons and what their process would be. That store is getting 50 pairs...5 size 13s (my size) and will do first come, first served on Saturday morning or raffle right then and there that morning if more people than pairs show up early. That's exactly what they did for Space Jams, too.

A Finishline by me is getting 48 pairs...4 size 13s. I was the only person that had submitted info. for a size 13 for their raffle, so they told me I'm pretty much guaranteed, etc. They said they would call Wednesday. I haven't received a call yet. I REALLY believe that FNL and the FTLs in my area backdoor everything and that I will NEVER get a call even though they always tell me it should be no problem, etc. Anyhow, I got an early reserve and locked down one pair and will go look for a double up via retail this weekend.

Been looking forward to these for a long time. Will probably cop through SNKRS and then if I don't care for them I'll just return them with ease to a Nike store.

@groovemachine  that 20% off is key.  I would be much more enticed to pull the trigger on my reserve pair if I have an extra discount code.  Glad you got your first pair with ease!  Enjoy!

Cool that people are getting to see them early and give their opinions. Helps others who are on the fence (like myself). But when you say "these look off in multiple ways", what exactly do you mean by that? Honest curiosity.
IMO.  The suede seems of poor quality.  It's mass produced like most other releases, so I don't expect it to be like the suede on a New Balance sneaker that only has a release # of a couple K, but for Jordan standards, I think it's low.  Also, the patent leather.  People keep comparing it to the 72-10s.  It's not even close in hand.  The 72-10s had almost a tumbled leather look with soft 'sparkles' (for lack of an better explanation).  I think that worked really well.  The pattern on this leather looks like a negative image of what you would see if you took a brillo pad to piece of aluminum.  It looks 'off.'

Simple is better.  These should have simply been black nylon uppper like usual for an 11. Black patent leather like usual for an 11.  And the soles as-is like the 72-10.  That would have been a classic 11 low.  No need to get cute.

Helps you get headstart on countdown
But honestly depending on where you live you prob won't need to raffle these
These should be an easy cop for everyone

Yeah FCFS in my area also (Chicago)
I'm not exaggerating but literally every single FTL near me is getting these

What I think SOME stores do is 'cherry pick' submissions.

What they do is pick people who in the past have reliably showed up to pick up their pair.  Believe it or not, MANY people who enter into these raffles and win don't show up.  In some stores, depending on policy, this can cause extra hassle for employees.  SO...

They pick people from the ticket stubs who they know will show.  Just my opinion.

My advise.  Get to know the people in your local store.  Just like anything else.  Network/personal relationships.  Sounds like you're kinda doing that, so I don't know about this exact store.  But that usually does the trick for getting your ticket picked on a consistent basis.  Enter raffles regularly. And when you do win, make sure you pick-up.

Thanks! I've been excited about the Barons since I first saw pics and seeing them in-hand cemented it for me as I actually really like them. I've worn my Space Jams 3 times, but I'll rock Barons all the time and beat them into the ground. XI lows are really comfortable for me, so this is a great wearable shoe IMHO.
