Official 2017 Knicks Offseason thread, Phil Jackson gone

Where did i say he was a knick great or a superstar? Hell where did i say he was an All-Star?

:smh:

He had a great 4th quarter last night and got his team a W. I happenes to be watching the game and felt like RavageBX.

There are a dozen or more players that were Knicks around the league and they are all contributing on good teams.

I chose to make a post about THJ and dudes pop up trynna descredit my opinion by saying he was a chucker with us.

All im saying is Phil traded a promising player for a 1st rounder which was great and put us in position to maybe find a more promising young player... But that didnt happen so the move was a fail.

We traded Grant in the Rose deal and ended up with a broken down injured CHUCKER who cant shoot.

We had three starting 2 guards all he had to do was flip one for maybe another big or PG but not he got rid of all three for nothing. His defense is terrible but thjr gets buckets and that's all the league is about nowadays.

THJr shot 5-20 against us just 2 games ago. He drops 33 & all of a sudden he's a former Knick great. Never change. Never change.

Y'all wanna be the voice of reason so bad all the time u don't realize when ur defending stupidity and arrogance which is all most of Phil's moves have been. I trashed all of these trades when they happened some of u r finally seeing the light but some still have Phil **** in their mouths

Kristaps Porzingis says he does not want to see Carmelo Anthony traded

Kristaps Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony have been nothing but respectful and complimentary of each other (if not complementary on the court). They always say the right thing.

Unfortunately for the Knicks, the career arcs of their two stars do not cross in a way that gets the team anywhere near an NBA title with them together. Which is why Phil Jackson has been active in trying to move Anthony — Porzingis is the future, and the team needs more athletes closer to his age and fitting with his skill set. That’s how to build something lasting in Madison Square Garden. It’s a direction that makes sense.

That doesn’t mean Porzingis wants to see Anthony traded, rather the opposite, as he told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

“I think it would make life harder for me on the court (if Anthony was traded),” Porzingis told the Daily News. “He makes stuff easier for me.”

“There’s still a lot more things I want to learn from Melo,” Porzingis told the News. “So I would love to have him around for a long time. I always love playing with Melo.”

Right now, Anthony does make Porzingis’ life easier. However, Wednesday night you could witness the potential future of the Knicks, when Porzingis and Willy Hernangomez led a comeback win over the Nets with Anthony glued to the bench. Granted, it was the Nets, but it still counts.

It’s understandable Jackson wants to start moving toward that future sooner rather than later (Knick fans wanted him to do it last summer). However, considering the trade options on the table right now, Porzingis may get his wish and have Anthony around for at least the rest of this season.

I can't give the Knicks the benefit of the doubt in the THJr trade. Consistently players leave the Knicks and become better. We suck at developing players. We suck at utilizing players. How many former Knicks are in the league right now and better off?

JR
Shump
THJr
David Lee
Wilson Chandler
Channing Frye
Mozgov
Galinari
ZBo
J Crossover
Raymond Felton
Trevor Ariza
Jeremy Lin

I feel like every night I'm watching a former Knick ball out. All left and were better off. I'll be happy for Melo when he finds the right situation. We ain't never gonna flourish till we get an owner and GM worth a damn.

But they're all role players. [emoji]129300[/emoji] 4 rings on that list and none were that much of a contributing factor except D Lee.

Master Zik Master Zik gotta chill with the Marbury slander. Son has his own museum now. He's the second coming over there.

Nobody defending Phil tho. Only good move he made was KP. Bottom line is none of the guys he traded were doing anything for us. The way I see it, it's all a wash. Caldo was washed, JR was un-lacing shoes, stump was dropping a hot 6 ppg, Theraflu was mailing it in and Timmy (the only one I would've kept) is really just a streak shooter.

Lmao says nobody's defending Phil. Two sentences later defends Phil. Hysterical

The only trade I wasn't too peeved about at the time was the Chandler trade only cuz I didnt like Chandler but I realize how incredibly stupid it was

Some of yall are completely missing the point. We are a TOXIC franchise. Posting players who left and did nothing is irrelevant. We don't get the best out of players at all and it's frustrating. You can't name a player that went to say the Spurs and didn't play their best ball. Role players or not we suck at developing. We suck at motivating players to be better. THJr has been very good for Atlanta. He's playing defense and getting to the rim. When he was with us I didn't see that potential. Is that his fault or ours? I was definitely ok with the trade but it's not my job to evaluate the talent. We're fans and we're reactionary. GMs have to see through all that. I remember being so surprised that Channing Frye is a legit knock down 3 point shooter. He didn't shoot the three at all when he was with us. Why is that? I can go on and on about players finding their game away from the Knicks. What concerns me now is KP. We see his poor performances as slumps. Really it's just poor development and utilization. Too much focus on the 3 ball and stretching defenses. Not enough, pick and pop and rolls to the basket. Not enough posting. Not enough high low with are other bigs, all three of which are good passers.

But whatever, I'll let yall tell it. Keep thinking it's the players not doing anything for us when it's us not doing anything for them. We have zero clue how to build a winning team. We're just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks.

Its not defending Phil to say the trades were a wash and we didn't lose much of anything.

Them dudes you praising aint better than Kuz or Baker. So what are we talking about?

As far as we can't develop players and we're toxic when hasn't that been the case? That's why I asked why y'all want to rebuild through the draft of we can't develop players? Cuz even when we were a playoff team in the 90s we see barely developing players.

We been toxic since Dolan/Scott Layden era. These are just stating the obvious posts. Dudes talking about what others can't see but have no solutions.

Lol if that KP article doesnt tell u guys it's all about Phil idk what will
Dudes wanted Melo traded before Phil did

This aint a who it's all about thing but obviously Phil is making the decisions. When was it ever suggested it was something or someone else?

Master Zik Master Zik You know fat boy Felton is in LA right? Lol. And he's been much better and in much better shape since he left us. He came to the Knicks to be mediocre because that's what we are. We can't even attract good free agents cause they see how it goes here.

I'm not with a rebuild. Been saying that. To "blow it up" you have to be capable of building it back. We are not. Best bet is to shuffle players.

Like i said before, some of ya are really invested with feelings.

Im a fan but i stop using my heart with them.

It gets tiring when your feelings get heart every year.

We didn't get equal value bottom line. The guys we lost contributed elsewhere as role players while we only got worse. Those r bad deals. U guys forget we missed the playoffs by one game the year we signed Phil. We needed some tweaks not an overhaul. He goofed and y'all r not intelligent if u think otherwise

The guy judges our whole team to the media at the end of every year but it's not about him. Some people just like hearing themselves talk and it gets worse as u get older. This is what's happening with Phil he's living in the past

What's crazy is were only a game and a half out of the playoffs.

I'd love to see what this team could do if ran correctly
