Official 2017 Knicks Offseason thread, Phil Jackson gone

Master Zik Master Zik You know fat boy Felton is in LA right? Lol. And he's been much better and in much better shape since he left us. He came to the Knicks to be mediocre because that's what we are. We can't even attract good free agents cause they see how it goes here.
I don't care where he is. That ***** is garbage.

Check his stats. I'm sure it's worse than when he was here.

We didn't get equal value bottom line.
We got a 1st round pick.

Most teams treat that like gold. Especially getting it for bum players.

The guys we lost contributed elsewhere as role players
So what? That's what they are. How many guys are in better positions? How many are better players?

This that delusion

Trying to convince me THJr was some huge loss and getting rid of him was a bad deal. I still remember the last season he was here.

Some dudes are lucky to be the bums they are on playoff teams. That gives them a little extra confidence but that aint sustainable. The rest still bums.

Those r bad deals. U guys forget we missed the playoffs by one game the year we signed Phil.
So if we kept them we would've made the playoffs? Phil didn't even make that move his first year here.

So what bad deals are you talking about?

We needed some tweaks not an overhaul. He goofed and y'all r not intelligent if u think otherwise
 You think what Phil did was an overhaul?

Is the goal to build a competitive playoff team or to barely get the 8th seed?

I don't get this revisionist history or trying to paint that past Knicks team as not as garbage as they were. The morale was so low. Most of the squad was the same team that won 50 games with Woodson. Struggling to win 30 a few games later.

The guy judges our whole team to the media at the end of every year but it's not about him. Some people just like hearing themselves talk and it gets worse as u get older. This is what's happening with Phil he's living in the past
You just sound sensitive here.

You don't like what Phil has to say about garbage players don't listen or read it.

Cuz Phil is gonna keep doing it and he probably gonna be here for the length of his contract.

Some of yall are completely missing the point. We are a TOXIC franchise. Posting players who left and did nothing is irrelevant. We don't get the best out of players at all and it's frustrating. You can't name a player that went to say the Spurs and didn't play their best ball. Role players or not we suck at developing. We suck at motivating players to be better. THJr has been very good for Atlanta. He's playing defense and getting to the rim. When he was with us I didn't see that potential. Is that his fault or ours? I was definitely ok with the trade but it's not my job to evaluate the talent. We're fans and we're reactionary. GMs have to see through all that. I remember being so surprised that Channing Frye is a legit knock down 3 point shooter. He didn't shoot the three at all when he was with us. Why is that? I can go on and on about players finding their game away from the Knicks. What concerns me now is KP. We see his poor performances as slumps. Really it's just poor development and utilization. Too much focus on the 3 ball and stretching defenses. Not enough, pick and pop and rolls to the basket. Not enough posting. Not enough high low with are other bigs, all three of which are good passers.

But whatever, I'll let yall tell it. Keep thinking it's the players not doing anything for us when it's us not doing anything for them. We have zero clue how to build a winning team. We're just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks.

Yeah you can't understate how much a toxic environment can drain the best of the best. God bless Melo for WANTING to be here.

Lol your still defending him. U like press conferences more than actual games I get it.
But ur last two sentences shows u see how stuck in his ways he is but u like it. Poeple like u need his interpretation s because u don't understand the game well enough to do it yourself.

When you inherit trash what you expect?

I said it in a post pgs ago, when Phil is gone the team still gonna suck. Yall gonna repeat the cycle with the next guy and eventually you'll blame him too, blame the coach, blame players. Then when Horny, KP, and the next guy are gone it'll start all over again.

You stuck on Phil like there's a better tomorrow if he left tonight. Nope.

And now ur just making excuses for the guy...

Didn't do the job he wasn't supposed to do, but that's OK it was hard u gave it ur best shot

Phil is trash. You're also forgetting how horrendously those guys were playing when they were traded. We're lucky we got anyone to bite. None of those guys were doing anything beneficial for us. JR was untying laces and Shump was making trash rap songs.

If this post is directed at me  cuz clearly it's your intelligence you need to be questioning. What interpretation does Phil have?

I don't listen to Phil. I don't go out of my way to read anything Phil says. Any time I comment on something he says it's cuz yall been whining about it in here for pgs. Oh Phil said Melo a slow ball stopping bum, Phil wants to trade Melo for bums, wah wah wah. There is no reason to pay any of that any mind. I don't see why you can't ignore it like I do. **** don't matter.

You're not paying attention. This the same Knicks fan ****. You still stuck on Phil Jackson. How long you been a Knicks fan? Take a step back. Look at the past 17 years. You really wasting time complaining about Phil. He gonna be gone soon enough and since you can't get right you gonna be doing the same complaining for the next guy.

Lets flip it. How many good coaches came to the Knicks and then became bum coaches? Then left and are better off? Lets make that list. How many GMs/President of ops left the Knicks to go on to be successful again? Or better off than when they were in NY? Hmmm let's make that list. I see a trend. Meanwhile, Dolan still owns the team.

But hey I don't know the game right. I'm defending Phil. Y'all still stuck in the moment. I could leave come back 5 years later y'all still be in the same place just with names being different

No denying that but read ravages post. We needed a culture change. These guys had talent they just needed guidance and coaching which is why almost all have flourished elsewhere. Phil didn't establish a winning culture he just said I'm Mr big **** cuz I got 11 rings and y'all ate it up

My belief still is that the culture change has to come from the top. Ownership right on down. Phil's old *** definitely wasn't the answer but it took the focus off of our clueless owner.

Of course that's not a belief it's a fact in any type of business. But since we know our situation with Dolan he hired Phil to do it. He didn't do it...

These days, in his new home of New York, Ron Baker no longer has to worry about having one of the more recognizable faces around and constantly being courted because of it. Being in a big city, though, has brought on a host of new difficulties.

"The first couple of times I pulled up to the MSG parking lot and told the security guard I was a player, the guy did a double take and seemed skeptical," Baker said.

"But now when they see my Hyundai Sonata roll in, they know who it is and that business is coming."

You don't think we can do better than Phil? Really?
What do you mean do better?

Also is the Phil Jackson era really the worst you think it can get?

We could get the best GM/president of operations in the world it don't matter. With this roster and w/e picks trades or cant be traded that guy will be in the same situation unless you think purposely sucking for 5 years is better than now. 2 years in yall would be calling for his job too.

Maybe yall aint read my previous posts.

What about myself am I justifying?

You're not paying attention. Read that whole post and this your reply :smh: and I'm the one that needs others to interpret thing for me? Ok.
Just repeating what everyone already knows while missing the points.
Its repeated cuz from your posts, you don't get it at all.

Seems you just salty I'm not agreeing with everything you're saying.

You actually believe before Phil this team just needed a few tweaks  Knicks fans forever delusional.

You'll be spinning your wheels again next week and the week after and the week after until it's 2020 and you start over for the new guy.

No denying that but read ravages post. We needed a culture change. These guys had talent they just needed guidance and coaching which is why almost all have flourished elsewhere. Phil didn't establish a winning culture he just said I'm Mr big **** cuz I got 11 rings and y'all ate it up

Apparently this can be considered as defending Phil
