Official 2017 Knicks Offseason thread, Phil Jackson gone

Dolan treated Oak like he was a random brotha he never seen before walking through his neighborhood.

Meanwhile bruh lived next door the whole time :smh:

James Dolan has always been a scumbag. fans need to start boycotting this mess of an organization year after year after year until he sells the team.

Oakley is the new Knicks GOAT for what he did today. He sacrificed himself for us and the team.

Tonight was a typical Knick game. Winning majority of the game and then you manage to lose somehow. I still don't know who we lost but we did.

**** you Phil, **** you Dolan and **** you Hornacek.

And I wish the Knicks still wore these

Knicks lost because of Hornacek.
He's bad.
Kristaps picked up a 5th foul (which was bs in itself, ref ought to be banned from ever calling games in the Mad Garden for that foolishness) early in the 4th and then Hornacek left him on the bench until it was too late. Kristaps finished the game with 5 fouls and an L.

I hate that ****

This team is missing an Oakley.
And point guard, and a shooting guard, and a center and Jesus and a bench. Organization is dam mess.
Yes. Yes. I know man

No doubt. A team can't lose the same way every night and still think the coach isn't a problem.

That press release was the single-most messed up thing about the whole incident last night. An OFFICIAL statement from the Knicks saying "we hope he gets help?" That was most definitely OK'd by Dolan...maybe Phil.

You Knicks fans are such a passionate bunch...all stuff aside, yall deserve better.

Lol winning teams need an Oakley. We need to be competitive first before we can say **** like that. Y'all forgot about Acy?

Cleveland could use an Oakley. We need a competent front office and new ownership.

Honestly as long as we acquire enough young talent it would be able to stave off any incompetence from other areas. That's why I'm so pro-draft. When the collection of players is good enough you can somewhat overcome most issues.

We definitely ain't signing anyone unless we overpay anyway.

Refs have a vendetta against KP for whatever reason, it's probably worst than Melo not getting any calls on the offensive end.

I'm so glad Oak is still Oak :pimp: #FREEOAK

I don't know how I support a franchise for 20+ years and they don't put respeck in they legends name. In the grand scheme of things, it's so ******* sad b :smh:

Nah kp is actually fouling. Idk bout that 5th one last night but hes not a strong defender yet. Correctable with coaching and conditioning but it looks like he has neither so the problem will remain.

This, I'm like how did you have Ewing, probably the 2nd best center in my lifetime and he couldn't even sniff at any kind of job for the franchise. He put the Knicks back on the damn map and he was out there struggling looking for gigs man. That's bs. But Allan Houston has a job, not knocking Allan Houston, but in the pantheon of Knicks legends, he pales in comparison to Ewing. Then you have Oakley. That man would have died for Knicks on the court if need be, and that man couldn't even get gifted tickets. Again that is bs. Jim's dad didn't have a problem with him, but James did. Oak couldn't even get a freaking sit down to right the relationship. Those actions alone will drive Free Agents far away from the Big Apple. This franchise is in shambles, and will remain so for the forseeable future.

This has been bothering me for years. The realist in me wants to believe that over the years since the Ewing/Starks/Houston era Knicks we've just not had players who were good at either drawing fouls or playing defense without fouling. But the cynic in me recognizes there's some sort of agenda. The Knicks being bad is as profitable a storyline as the Knicks being good. Because every year, no matter the players, it's the same thing. We get called and we don't get calls. Especially in big spots down the stretch. Was it like this for Melo before NY? Does KP really foul the most in the league? What would happen if James Harden played for the Knicks? Would there be some sort of tear in the space time continuum?

Oak too real man. That gave me a genuine smile. We're an embarrassing franchise in all aspects. We really REALLY gotta protest and find a way to get Dolan outta here. It's hard in a city like New York though. So many imports and tourists who are casual fans and will go to MSG just for the experience.

If you're a free agent there's not a single thing that makes NY a top destination anymore. Then drama isn't worth it. You'll just be putting a blight on your career.

Until changes are made, free agents will come to be ultra competitive for mediocrity, they can do that anywhere with less stress.

I'll keep it 100%, Allan Houston's deal was the ******' worst and it didn't help that he was injury prone but how he got a job in the Knicks' Office, IDK?

We deserve everything we get for screwing over Ewing like that.

Gotta give it up to you dudes who still watch the games man... I can barely watch highlights for this team.

I'm a Knick fan because of what's on their chest. The 90s team that I grew up with that had Oakley represented the city so perfectly.

These days the team is still representing the city perfectly.... In its current state. New York as a whole is trash now.

I love my city, I love the history, the culture, but it sucks. Idc. This is a place for the rich and snobby now...

It's a shame that the team has basically taken on this new New York persona and style.

**** Dolan.
**** Phil.

I get on Melos case all the time, but I honestly did not realize the disparity between the Knicks record with Melo before Phil and his record since Phil. The graphic should be blasted all over these news outlets. Everywhere. It's sickening. And I feel bad that I've even been so tough on Melo seeing all this transpire the way it has. He has his flaws as a player, but he's also very good at the things he's good at. At the end of the day, he's been loyal to our city and he's been dealing with the heavy b.s. Still maintains his willingness to win here.

I thought I was sour on Melo, but I'm back on board. And I would like to say that I was wrong for placing so much of the blame on that man.

I need a Melo jersey ASAP. And Melo needs to be here next season playing with one of these PGs that are coming in this draft. He needs to retire a Knick!

My man Oak tho. :pimp: I remember posting a pic in here last summer of Oak with my daughters AAU basketball team. He showed up randomly after a practice... Took pics, dribbled around with the girls a little something and was real approachable. I asked him about how he felt about the Knicks for the upcoming season and I'll never forget how annoyed he was at the mention of the Knicks. He said "Man, don't even ask nothing bout them dudes unless they start winning." I respected that. Fast forward to last night and man, I gotta get a Oakley jersey ASAP.

Melo is actually still really good surprisingly. He did look washed at times during the beginning of the season but he seems to have his legs back and the shoulder not bothering him so much anymore. I've seen that explosive first step come back and the lift on his jump shot and that's why he's been playing so well lately
