Lol, we're trash for that. A loss was sort of predictable. Media called it, down to the style of play they'd try to employ. Not like we got blind sided by any of it, we just **** the bed laugh.gif

Surprised we got blown/shut out tho. Pretty embarrassing

It was just weird. They eliminated everything the Texans are good at, highlighted the things they aren't good at, and dismantled them. I said I didn't care what QB was there cause they're still a Belichick team, but I at least expected a closer game with that. You have to play them flawlessly, yet that rarely happens. Belichick needs to go home and be a family man already. I'm tired of losing to them no matter who they have. He's the one constant and it's sickening.

And we continued to just try to run it up the gut every time. Such a pathetic performance from everybody involved.

The offense and especially special teams kept the defense on the field, but even early in the game, you shouldn't have a team backed up almost in their own endzone on 3rd and 15, and let them get off 16 yards for a first down. Those PI penalties too sick.gif the first PI early in the game basically lit a match to ignite the Pats. Just an overall ****** loss that that makes every media source stamp the team as a joke and followers of those media source eat it up

Y'all notice we almost exclusively ran out of the pistol. And once it wasn't working we just kept doing it. No adjustments whatsoever

Exclusively. Something I don't think we did in the Bears game nor the Chiefs game. Belichick just makes people **** the bed on all accounts

The lone bright-spot from Thursday's dismantling

Busting through the middle of the New England Patriots' offensive line on a fire blitz, Texans inside linebacker Benardrick McKinney sacked rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

McKinney was one of the few bright spots for the Texans during a humiliating 27-0 loss Thursday night at Gillette Stadium. He recorded a career-high 16 tackles, including the sack.

Starting every game this season, McKinney has 29 tackles and two sacks.

With veteran middle linebacker Brian Cushing still sidelined with a sprained medial collateral ligament for the next two to four games, McKinney is wearing the helmet communication device to relay the defensive calls from the coaches to the huddle.

"I thought that McKinney played a good game," Texans coach Bill O'Brien said. "He had a bunch of tackles. McKinney, he's gotten better and better in this league and he's a really good player for us."

At a lean 6-4, 260 pounds with 4.65 speed in the 40-yard dash and a 40 1/2 inch vertical leap, McKinney is one of the most athletic players on the defense.

The Texans expect even bigger contributions from the former second-round draft pick from Mississippi State after watching him record 68 tackles, including seven for losses and a sack, as a rookie in 14 games and 11 starts.

As a defense, the Texans didn't tackle particularly well.

"We have to get back in the workshop," McKinney said. "Everybody believes in this team. We're like family. We didn't play like we wanted to play. We did miss some tackles.

"We need to have fun and play our style of defense. I just did my job. We lost. I'm really not into stats. When we lose, I'm definitely not into it."

Ryan Griffin was 8 for 52 as well, but boo whooo, him and the TEs should be stepping up nyway

HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON)Houston Texans left tackle Duane Brown returned to the practice field on Monday after missing the first three weeks of the regular season and the entirety of training camp rehabbing from a torn quad muscle sustained in Week 17 of the 2016 season.

Head Coach Bill O’Brien has to look at Brown this week and determine if he’s ready to face the division rival Tennessee Titans but did say he could be back this week.

“Possibly this week,” O’Brien said of Brown’s status. “You never know.”

Brown avoided the PPU list at the end of training camp which would have held him out for a minimum six weeks before returning.

If the Pro-Bowl left tackle does get on the field Chris Clark will be relegated to fill in duty while Brown gets 100% healthy.

Honestly, if Brown is healthy and good to go, I'd rather he come back this week vs the Titans instead of coming back vs the Vikings. I'm totally dreading the thought of the Vikings defense mauling him (and the o-line in general). Realistically, probably should just hold him out with a bunch of practices leading up to the Colts game.

I had said from the beginning he should have come back week 4 or 6 instead of the first game.

More concerned with the offense instead of defense though. The margin for error on that side of the ball just gets smaller now

Stephen Anderson, Jonathan Grimes, and Braxton Miller are all ruled out for Sunday's game. I figured they would hold Miller out some more, but I didn't even know Anderson and a hamstring injury, nor did I know Grimes cracked his fibula sick.gifsick.gif he's supposed to be out for a month. Hopefully that means more Ervin getting carries instead of Blue. They need to find a balance anyway. Can't have Lamar Miller getting 25+ carries a game, and the next back only getting like 7, especially with how bad the line has been.

Glad for the win, but the mistakes on offense were sick.gif the line was pretty bad, mostly in the second half, and some of Brock's throws were either too high, or just where they shouldn't be. Have to blame Hopkins on the first INT, but he should have thrown the ball more towards the sideline on the second INT. Defense played well late, but gave up some big plays and 3rd downs plays. Pass rush really needs to pick up. I know Watt is out, but there's still talent on this team and just simply need to step it up, especially with heading to the Vikings next week sick.gif.

Will commend the play-calling in the first half though. Loved seeing the TEs get involved and Lamar Miller actually getting on the edge. Also, whoever made the call for Fuller to do punt return on that possession, clutch.

The Houston Texans had solid production from the tight end position in this weekend’s bout with the Tennessee Titans, with C.J. Fiedorowicz hauling in four receptions for 48 yards and a TD. Following his TD catch in the first half of the game, Fiedorowicz suffered a knee injury. Today it was reported to be an MCL sprain, though the injury is not considered serious.

#Texans TE CJ Fiedorowicz suffered an MCL sprain on Sunday, source said, that could cause him to miss some time.

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) October 3, 2016
It is not yet clear how much time Fiedorowicz will miss, if any. If he is sidelined for the upcoming match-up against the Vikings, his absence could potentially pave the way for a bigger performance from Ryan Griffin or rookie Stephen Anderson, who was held out of Sunday’s game due to a hamstring injury that he suffered against the New England Patriots.

Anderson had an impressive preseason, including 34 yards and a TD, and has an uncanny ability to get open. He could be in line for a larger role in the Houston offense in the wake of Fiedorowicz’s injury, and more snaps for Anderson is something most of us here at BRB would like to see.

I'm attempting to build a case as to how the Texans can win against the undefeated Vikings on the road, and all I can think of is by special teams and the defense, cause I'm just not comfortable yet with this offense going against a nasty defense like that. Our line is still tragic and I just don't see good things, especially considering the Giants did nothing. Sam Bradford has been annoyingly efficient since he's been a Viking, and it will be up to the Texans defense to make him as uncomfortable as possible. If when get lucky enough, we can hit on a couple big plays offensively.

The Texans shut down defensive end Devon Still for the season, placing him on injured reserve.

Still suffered a leg injury Sunday against the Tennessee Titans and was limping badly in the locker room afterward.

Still hadn't played football in a year before being signed by the Texans. He had spent the previous season caring for his daughter, Leah, during her successful fight with cancer.

Still was replaced on the active roster by Brandon Dunn.

A defensive lineman from Louisville who was on the Texans' active roster last season, Dunn was promoted from the practice squad.

The Texans signed defensive end Dan Pettinato to the practice squad to take over Dunn's spot.

we're wasting our time speculating about this team's true ability until we get a respectable line. Brock isn't gonna carry this team (at least not close per anything ive seen thus far), so we'll need to just have a well built team with all the pieces in place. til then, we're liable to win/lose any game imo. ha, smh

Brock needs to chill on the picks and trying to force it to Nuk. I know our o-line sucks *** but the coaches need to come up with a very good strategy against this Vikings defense

Brock needs to find a pass to Nuk that's going to be a completion to Nuk or incompletion only. Better quarterbacks find that pass with elite WRs if not more than one of those passes. I hope he's ultimately a "better quarterback"
