How Do You Feel About The Current Heroin Epidimic?

Not sure if this is regional or national but I know it's been crazy here in Cincinnati and the tri state area.

I think Baltimore and Florida are getting hit bad too

People have been OD'n like crazy the last few weeks.
Authorities have said nearly 300 overdoses have been reported in the Cincinnati area since Aug. 19, with 174 reported in a six-day period.

I have mixed feelings on the handling of it though.

Trust me I want everyone to get the best treatment and the ability to live a full life.

But from the Narcan to public officials speaking out on this "disease" and treatment plans for the users yet are still handing out life to the dealers.

Where was this sympathy for crack?

I don't want to turn this into a race thing but I don't have any other answer.

Americans are the biggest drug addicts. BIG Pharma pushes the ideology. Being "sober" is frowned upon in the states. Never had, and will continue to not have sympathy. Because America glorifies drug usage.

In my life i have only seen 1 person actually do this.

Possibly because im not about that street cat life so its not around me.

I did not know it was an epidemic here.

I know in the Philippines its bad and im sure some have seen how they are handling that smh.
 
The fetanyl they use to kut it is kausin alotta ods. Heroin been around forever tho, its just that affluent white folks are addikted kuz of oxy n other opioids. Personally, i got homies n fam that are heroin addikts. **** is sad to see, but they adults n gonna do what they do...sad tho kuz they aint the same people anymore, but it is what it is
 
Hardly even hear about it around my way but I've seen plenty of users when I still worked in poor communities.

Sad thing to see, most seemed just... Off. Mentally and physically.

That's what I was wondering, was it regional or national.

It's not used by people I know of.

I know they are hashing out life terms to the dealers now though.

Don't ask me how but if someone dies from something you sold them they will put you AWAY.

They are givin out nubers now if you get caught selling it at all.
 
I don't give a **** really, just dispose of those damn needles properly....

I was at work week b4 last, a mechanic came in with a bag of heroin he caught a junkie shooting up in a waffle House bathroom... Fool ran out and left all his dope.smh So dude took it, had it on the job and showing Everybody, like he ain't holding a schedule 1 controlled substance.smh. Talking about it's some good ****. He probably did that **** forreal.

He was a contractor no affiliation with my job.

There's more sympathy towards the heroin and prescription opiate epidemics because they primarily affect white people.
 
Big here where I live in VA. I know a few current and former addicts. Theft and break ins been increasing over the years cuz of that ********. Junkies out here begging in parking lots :smh:

There's been a few major busts the past couple years.

And as soon as the white kids started ODing they started throwing football numbers at dealers.

basically my thoughts. not advocating for "tough *love*" like they did crack, but what technically is the difference besides race?

Doctors shouldn't be prescribing all these pills either.
 
Big problem down here in South Florida, I work in social services, and one program we run is a indigent cremation program. It's not uncommon for us to cremate 2-3 21-27YO a week. Just had 2 yesterday that died from an OD.

The funny thing is, many of these people die while in treatment. My area is booming in the "sober home " business, which many are scams, milking loved ones of their resources and making a killing on insurance claims. Sober homes are a huge business down here, and it seems like anyone can do it if you have the property.

Idk how I feel about it, like it's sad so many people are dying and maybe it might get this country to look at drugs differently, but growing up in the crack era of the 80's can't help to think as this as "payback" of some sorts.

I get bad anxiety most the time of just getting a shot from a doctor or giving blood....I don't know how people ever get to the point where they actually do it for fun.
 
I read not too long ago that some of the heroin is getting cut with elephant tranquilizer or some **** :x, which has been one of the biggest reasons for the ODs lately.

I don't know why anybody would ever do that mess, just smoke some trees man.
 
Here in New York if somebody over dose from your **** and they die. You're getting negligent homicide quicker then you can say it. I seen cases where big time dudes in the area would usually be looking at 20years max or less if they got caught but as soon as that body or bodies got pent on them. That good ol 20years turned in to 60 real quick smh
 
This mite be a dumb question but if someone ods on heroin.....how do the police know who gave it to them?

Of course the alleged dealer will deny it and the other person who knows is not alive.

Maybe not life but you can catch a murder charge.

Not sure if its manslaughter or another classification.

Bruh I have no idea but that interrogation room ain't no joke.

They get to pressin and threatening you and your family things start to come out.

Shady **** goes on in there from what I understand.

phone tap usually or stamp on the bag that leaves a trace on who has it..

The biggest difference is race, theres a lot more white heroin addikts than white crack heads. Also, the highs kouldnt be more different. Crack is a stimulant, n a long enough binge will yield sleep deprivation. That kauses extreme paranoia, kompounded with paanoia fron the high, has a higher chance of resulting in violence. Heroin is a "downer" n will kause you to nod out if binged upon. So while race is the main faktor, an additional faktor is the type of high. At least in my opinion

Almost everyone i kno of started off free basing with foil. They do that for a few months to years, then their tolerance goes up, n someone eventually konvinces them to inject. Tho many heroin addikts do stick to just free basing it.

Yeah, the fetanyl they are using to kut it is kausing alotta ods. But many users prefer the fetanyl laced produkt to regular. I dunno if it has a better high or is cheaper, but alotta addikts i kno prefer it.

What i find strange, is most people will choose to use black tar, rather than china white. I kno china is way more expensive, but many people i kno that kan afford it, still choose black tar. It takes less china white to get a better high too. But different strokes i guess [emoji]128129[/emoji]
