just curious, do ya not take self defense growing up or some kinda martial arts whether in studio/dojo or even streets?
growing up it was the norm for us. after school activity/weekend. not saying you use it to solve problems, but at least have some kind of defense.

I took tae kwon doe in grade school. I don't think the low and high blocks they taught me would help against a group jumping me though.

I was almost jumped by 4-5 dudes.
This isn't BloodBorne or Dark Souls, or Bleach. No one in this thread, let alone probably planet Earth... Is capable of defending themselves against 4-5 grown men. It's just not possible. I don't care what your stature is.

That is very wrong. Most wouldn't be able to defend themselves against 4-5 men but there's dudes that can easily do so, not saying I'm one of them

Yes, but I wouldn't have been in that situation because I would've seen cats causing trouble a mile away and once someone threw a bottle at me I would've either
A) fought him on the spot (most likely)

Nothing wrong with taking off. Sometimes you just need to realize the situation isn't going to go your way. Getting scraped by four guys is usually not the move..

You outnumbered 4/1 or 5/1, and decide to stay and fight...u might get in a couple of good licks, but there's probably a 99% chance you're gonna get lumped pretty badly and end up on the worse end of things. Nothing wrong with trying to get out of there in that situation.

Do you watch the new often? How often do you see these 14-18 year old young'n carrying a loaded weapon for "street cred" at accidentally goes off in situation as such. Lets not even take it that far... the smallest stab wound can take your life in an heart beat. Running away from such situation doesn't make you less of a man.

This. Doesnt make u soft or a ***** if u bounce when 5 guys r tryna jump u. Unless u a trained fighter odds arent in ur favor. Plus how u know those guys werent high, crazy or packing a blade?
