What brought you and your male friend close enough to call each other brother?

A lot of people say "blood thicker than water" right?

So for those who have close friends, who you consider family, what brought y'all close together? What situation did you all go through to build that everlasting bond between a man and man which can never be broken?

Did you shed blood, did you cry together, or is it all fake smiles and loose daps? Keep it real.

On my end, for me it's all about experiences. Years on top of years of looking out for one another, honesty, friendship and all that good stuff.

I know a couple of cats of the Caucasian persuasion who actually cut themselves and rubbed each other's blood on one another's wounds as some type of blood oath type ****. Needless to say, I can't rock with that.

How did you get close with your close group of friends, and what trials and tribulations did y'all go through to make y'all bonds unbreakable and tough like timberland gear

Looked my homie directly in the eyes while we were tag teaming a chick.

I felt his soul.

Pause.

We've been brothers ever since.

Just imagine being 90 in the rocking chair on the stoop reminiscing with ya boy "remember the time we tag teamed that broad. I dont know what i remember best, the connection us bros had when we gazed into each others eyes or when i stuck it in ya pooper"

Me and my 2 closes friends were enemies in Elementary school. I was in a grade ahead and got left back in the 5th grade.smh so we became class mate's.

But anyway I beat the **** outta both of them on separate occasions and they put a little respect on my name after that....

It's like they wanted to be cool with me but chose to initiate themselves into brotherhood by getting their *** whooped by me...

They use to do silly **** to irk me and they knew damn well they couldn't beat me. We lived a few seconds away from each other down a dirt road. Our parents grew up together, everybody grandma house right next to theirs... That country ****.

Yajé forgives... We done grew up together after all these years they my closes bros. Sucks they live in different states now but we rendezvous a couple times a year. 1's a veteran and the other's a... Well idk what he actually does.lol but I take credit for making those boys into men...

I've been tight with my ace since we were in Jr. high. (i'm 26 now). We hooped on the same travel teams all the way up to high school. Went to battle together on the court which helped develop our strong chemistry. Even though he lives in SD and I'm in LA, I still visit him every month.

Our personalities are different so I think that's why we mesh so well too. We've been through a grip of experiences, from health, money, and females. Dude is no doubt my brother.

I'm sure every dude that played a team sport in college or high school has a partner they will ride for like that.

I read somewhere if you have been friends with someone for 7 years plus, then thats your best friend.

Me and my best friend have been since HS.

Always there for me, and i was especially there for him during his dark time of his dad going in and out of the hospital.

I can say I'm happy with my life having him as the only friend.

Wouldnt trade my ninja for anything in this world.

I have two.

One met in college and she was just mad ****** cool and so much more outgoing than me and was actually super into her. We had sex once and it was wack(her fault) and I've eaten her out on a couple of occasion while drunk way back when. But realzied then that a relationship wasn't going to pop off being that sexually we ain't vibe like that.

Second is a homie since I was 18. Friend of friend who is wise beyond his years and knows so many people that the homie can get me anything for the low low. Very dependable and trustworthy.

I initially hated him for nearly destroying a city.

But he and I both had mothers with the same first names. We bonded and became brothers after that. In fact, I even saved his mother from some Russian gangsters.

I do feel as though I need new friends though.... Time to stop being a part time hermit.smh.

My main lady and her brother are the only people I vibe with right now... My homies be incognito when it really comes to the good times... I always have the occasional woman or two but they never end up in a friendship. Majorly because I don't give them that option from the jump....

I definitely wouldn't mind finding a cool dude or female to catch good times with on a friendship level.... I'm not much of a socializer.

I'm ranting excuse my thread hijack.

Nah I feel you. My homegirl lives a couple states away and my boy ain't into the music or **** I'm into.
I need a friend who can go to a currensy show with and is good at basketball, can snowboard and gets chick so I live vicariously through him becuase I'm Ina relationship. **** like that.

My boy went to another city after high school to do some self reflecting since he was going through some things, and he told me I was the only one of his friends to stick by his side. 'Made sure he was good everyday, and since that summer we been calling each other brothers. He's gone through some rough times and so have I but he's always got my back as a brother. Never did me dirty and I can't do him dirty either.

Growing up together in High School.

Just getting that life experience and sharing these moments together.

We all left to different university but we always stayed close. It's been 7 years since we finished HS.

it's me and 5 other dudes. Some fell through the cracks as the years passed but these 5 dudes always been there.

Staying solid through trials and tribulations. You don't truly know if someone is your ***** till he's tested.

eh, for me it's the other way around...my true friends have stood by me for years or decades on a voluntary basis and I'm proud to consider them my family, but people I'm supposed to call "uncle" or "cousin" haven't done a damn thing with or for me that I can remember...so****em.

far as I'm concerned, "family" has to earn their spot..."friends" sort themselves out, given enough time. I'm lucky to have a few of both.
