It is a tool of control that exploits the unknown.
How many religions absolutely had to back down when science proved their understanding of where we live was false?
Do I then believe peer reviewed studies from a large group of people interested in learning? Or do I believe the books written thousands of years ago by who knows without ever knowing their intentions?
At the end of the day our conversation will always come back to faith.

Instead of giving answers or saying "i don't know"
You give very open ended answers... requiring us to do the work that you don't want to do b/c
1. You know you're going to uncover how contradictory it is and it will shake your core or
2. You're too lazy

What would you do if your son turned out to be gay? How would he be judged?
Fully embracing either of the major religions' holy books includes a lot of anti-gay passages, so how would one reconcile that? If at all.
