Religious famb... Keep it funky...

Why are answers always necessary? Questions which cannot be explained by science (yet) does not imply a God exists, and it also does not imply a God doesn't exist. It's OK not to know, maybe in a few thousands years more answers will be uncovered by science, but it's baffling to me when people use the "Science doesn't have all the answers" argument to support their belief in God. like how does that even work?
Why not?

We both can play this game man

1. Why do you think you're right and everyone else is wrong?

I ask the same about Atheist
I wish it was just about thinking you're right an everybody else is an atheist.

Thing is with an atheist there isn't a justifiable reason to believe. There S no evidence or even a strong argument.
I don't understand how people can't see that the bible (as well as pretty much every mainstream religion) is allegory, just like every other great work of literature.

The people in here trying to disprove elements of a literal interpretation are just as bad as people who hold a literal interpretation to be true. And yall call yourselves intellectuals. :rolleyes
You say that if everyday intellectuals aren't faced with ppl who claim either all or many parts of a religious text were factual historical events.

When faced with those ppl it is only common sense to demand evidence and/or logical reasoning instead of this magical thinking these ppl consistently indulge in.

Because not everything can be explained yet? I don't even understand what you're getting at.
I am basically telling you that if someone WANTS an answer for everything, it makes no sense for you to question WHY they are questioning things.

Yea, everything might not have an answer, you are correct. But again, people can't tell their brains NOT to want an answer for everything.

Some people are just hardcoded like that. Me for instance, I always ask why. No matter what it is, I want an answer or I am not buying in.

Come on man, if you ask 50 Christians whether or not certain stories in the bible were actual events or not, you might get a split down the middle.

Nobody knows if it is supposed to be taken literally or not because the instruction manual never clarified if things are supposed to be taken literally.

That's true. But my point was just because something doesn't have an answer, it doesn't imply a God exists/doesn't exist.

We can always ask why, I think that's a good thing. But what I can't stand is "No answer = God exists"

Remember when I posted this in response to your argument previously and you had no answer?

You'd think that you would've learned by that.

You're NT's biggest laughing-stock since Superb.  Sit down.

Wavy,

What are you thoughts on that video though? Since you are all caught up in here now :nerd:

Everything he says, i can say the same but from a religious perspective and it wont make sense to him just like him talkin doesnt make sense to me.

I just listened to it for the first time, i guess i can say he DID answer a question I had, but i dont fully agree with it.

Im very curious about reproduction tho.

Cuz if theres no god, and like these other dudes say, then whats the explanation for it? And how did man and women begin?

I mean, if i cant give my woman a child, and she doesnt try elsewhere, how does life begin for one? It doesnt.

1. Why do you think you're right and everyone else is wrong?

2. Do you view holy scripture as fact or metaphorical?

1. I don't think everyone else is wrong, I just feel I made the right decision for me. It's kind of my inner selfishness, as long as I'm happy with my religious beliefs, I don't give a **** what the rest of you do with your choices.

2. I view the Quran as fact.

That facebook meme w/ Benjamin Watson... SMH.

Black folks still out here thinking you can pray away systemic racism.

Religions aren't saying the same thing:rofl: I guess you need to know a little bit about history and comparative mythology and paganism to know this, I don't blame you.

The irony. You dont have a clue what you're talking about.

And no one is asking for science to replace religion, we are just asking for religion to be taken out of politics.

No one said you were. And no one said anything about politicizing what I'm referencing. You continue to argue points I'm not making. One trick pony. You have one train of thought on the matter and that ***** a runaway. Relax.

You think abolishing religion is gonna solve all the worlds ills because science. Its not. Religion didnt drop a nuclear bomb on women and children. Religion isnt reading your emails and logging this convo right now. Religion isnt sending mass murderers into schools, shopping malls and movie theatres. Social medias gonna dumb down your kids faster than your local preacher. This notion that absence of religion is gonna make the world one big happy family is a false narrative. But we're so far of topic now its pointless to even continue.

Keep debunking literal interpretations. Keep arguing with fools, as long as you know what you look like.

I never implied people dont take it literally. Some people think the world is flat too. Whats the point of arguing with the uneducated if you consider yourself an intellectual? Its an exercise in ego stroking for a lot of folks in these type of threads as far as i can tell.

If you consider yourself halfway smart, and the literal interpretation doesnt make sense to you, its a safe bet it wasnt meant to be taken litterally. I suggest its an allegory, if you wanna expand your mind and look at it from a different perspective before throwing the baby out with the bath water, that'd be cool. Or you can continue your scientific break down of why santa clause isnt real. Whichever lane you feel more comfortable in.

The irony. You dont have a clue what you're talking about.

You're right Frank Mucus/Matthews all religious traditions since the first cave man looked at the sky in wonder are the same, I'm a just keep it moving in here with certain people.

The 4-5 major world religions since you wanna be dense. Id be interested to know what you've read about the comparative mythology and history of caveman religions though. :rolleyes

Oh hell naw y'all ain't in here tryna have intelligent Convo with Wavy Daddy.
All his questions seem like a trap to waste your time explaining easily answerable questions you can find using Google via science discovering most of them.

Not like one where you're actually educating someone who is generally curious about this.

If you accept that there is only one answer for questions like these and never consider a more thorough evidence/research informed alternative you're probably a closed minded bufoon too far indoctrinated to interact with.

1. Why do you think you're right and everyone else is wrong?

2. Do you view holy scripture as fact or metaphorical?
I used to be a Christian, so I'll try to answer from that perspective.

1. Just take a look at anything people argue over. People always think they are right and everyone else is wrong. Having grown up in religion, there's really no reason to believe one religion over another. It's a matter of where you were born and how you grew up.

2. I was always taught to take the Bible as 100% fact unless it explicitly stated otherwise (i.e. the world is 6000 years old, people lived to be hundreds of years old, Jesus was performing magic).

The 4-5 major world religions since you wanna be dense. Id be interested to know what you've read about the comparative mythology and history of caveman religions though. :rolleyes
Yea let's conveniently overlook the thousands of religions that pre-date the 4-5 "major world religions" Mr. Matthews. Let's overlook all the religions from Africa, the Americas and Europe that are now considered pagan just so you don't have to think. I know thinking is hard trust me, I think I have an aneurysm. :smh:

5 major world religions  >D   Son is really trying to say all religions are the same by using a sample size of 3 religions (i group Christianity, Judaism and Islam into one tradition).

Ahhh I see, you wanted the ancient pagan religions of Africa, the Americas and Europe out of your modern American politics. Thats what you are referencing in this thread right? My bad. Move goal posts much? :rolleyes

This thread is about modern religious teachings, holy scriptures actually. I'm pretty sure when dude made the comment I responded to he wasn't speaking on pagan rituals and traditions from a 2000 years ago. But you knew that didn't you? Quit being purposefully dense to try and save your face. None of what you are talking about is relevant to the conversation. You trying way too hard.
