Does anyone think stop and frisk is a good idea? VOL.....aNYone

Based on what I have read, in practice it turns into racial targeting and blatantly infringes on people's rights.

In 2011, New Yorkers were stopped by the police 685,724 times.

605,328 were totally innocent (88 percent).

350,743 were black (53 percent).

223,740 were Latino (34 percent).

61,805 were white (9 percent).

341,581 were aged 14-24 (51 percent)
9 percent of people stopped were white. In New York.
Blacks and latinos formed a combined total of 87% of that year's stops.

And yet, white people seem to carry more illegal drugs or weapons.
Specifically, the New York Police Department uncovered a weapon in one out of every 49 stops of white New Yorkers, while for Latinos a weapon was found for every 71 stops, and for African Americans that number was 93 stops.

The NYPD uncovered contraband in one out every 43 stops of white New Yorkers. By contrast, it took the Department 57 stops of Latinos and 61 stops of African Americans to uncover contraband.

Have you every been a victim of armed robbery?

It sounded good then they put it in play and it didn't work. So no it's not effective at all.

But places like Chicago might really need this even though I'm contradicting myself. Chicago is that bad.

They can still search your ****, you hear the announcements on the subway. Busta *** mutha*****s trying to lock young dudes up for dime bags. I just got locked up over some bud in may. Greasy *** pigs. Coming from the bay this place is a police state, in comparison. [emoji]128567[/emoji]

Stop and frisk = more confrontation between citizens and police = more violence between aforementioned groups

How about implementing more community based policing?
