Things to do in AUSTRALIA?!?! (Melbourne and Sydney)

So, me and 2 of my friends are going to Australia late November into December for about a week and a half. We will fly into Sydney and travel over to Melbourne and fly back to the US from Sydney.

Can anyone offer any suggestions of things to do? Looking for tips on food, clubs/bars, nature stuff, getting around town, etc.
