Man that price better not be right lol.. starting at $649.

Google trying to go more premium to compete with the iPhone

Yeah I'm not spending $650 and I'm not getting $650 technology value with the phone

At $650 these phones are dead on arrival. That price and being made by HTC is a no go.  I don't see any reason for someone with a current gen nexus to upgrade. Also don't see a reason why people that are 2 generations behind not to just grab a 5x or 6P at the current reduced price. Their marketing budget better be insane to get regular people to adopt these over a Iphone or Galaxy Series.

Guess we'll see what tricks they have up their sleeve tomorrow.

I'm one of those people.

Waiting for the 6p to dip to $400 /$450 and it's copped

Yeah same I'm waiting for the 6p to drop in price. Almost got the 5x offline for $250 but decided to pass.

The 6p is probably the best phone from the lineup outside of the Nexus 4.

I also really enjoyed the Nexus 5. Felt well in the hand but I may just purchase the Netbit Robin.

I honestly don't see the prices for the 5x and 6P budging after the official announcement of the Pixel phones. I'm not worried about HTC because they have a solid track record w/ Google in terms of Google branded devices. The cost is too too high though, nobody is going to adopt these new phones, especially w/ no drastic upgrades from the current gen line.

Only way people adopt is if Google smartens up and sells them in carrier stores, the 5 and 6 did well due to being sold in Tmobile stores and we all know how hit or miss the 6 was.

Only reason Apple sells their devices year after year for the price is because they sell them in stores.

Also, if Google doesn't have a damn good trade-in policy, they can kiss solid sales adios.

The 5X has been discounted for months now via the Google Fi loop hole ( buy the phone with activation, cancel the activation as soon as the orders complete, Google still sends you the phone for $200/$250 + tax.

 @ solid track record. We've forgotten the Nexus 9 already eh?

Think the 5 doing well was more so due to the price than it being solid in stores. The main selling points of a google phone are the things that most folks buying in a store don't seem to care about, having a stock Android experience and getting the latest updates first (ask some Nexus 6 folks how well that's working out with 7.0). They have no gimmicky features like a curved edge or and s pen to use as a selling point so I don't know who Google is planning on marketing these to.

At $650, they can keep it. I might consider one later at a lower cost

That new Chromecast though :nerd:

Rumor is Huawei passed on making this years phone because google insisted on no vendor branding.

My Nexus 6P has been solid. I dont plan on upgrading this year.

lol, they better not let any carriers **** up da phone with tramp stamps or bloatware if they plan on going da carrier route in store with this one then.

Those bezels cant be serious... It's 2016. Those the same bezels twista's phone had in the Source... I remember.. That's right. That's right.  twista's phone had those same bezels in the source (2007)
