Pop has managed minutes and still has had his players looking washed and flabby in the 2nd round.

I have to see the data that concretely shows that resting players is actually effective.

Exactly. They lost in the 1st rd a few years ago too. And it never fails the 1st game of the playoffs after all this resting, Bron looks gassed after the first 5 minutes of the game

players should be allowed to rest whenever
the nba scheduling is ridiculous. they are milking and using these athletes
i am all for team/players protecting themselves and having a day off

Eh. At the same time they looked dead after getting rocked by Memphis and then OKC. Came back a little later and ran LAPS around Miami.

I'd certainly be surprised if Kawhi retires before 36-37, barring injury.

I think it has some merit. I mean we criticize Thibs for trying to win every single game. If Bron & Co only played 15 mins last night there would've been complaints.

Milking the players huh? The players aren't seeing any benefits? Child please.

I like the idea of giving them 0's stat wise for the games they rest. Just have it at the leagues discression to separate what qualifies as rest and what doesn't.

I would love them to start mandating that for every game they rest (again rest is determined at the leagues discression) the rested players are forced to sit out a playoff game. Lebron missing games 1-3 and Kylie missing some in the first round makes that 1 vs 8 matchup that much more interesting.

I expect the issue to be addressed this offseason though. Once the network gets pissed and makes a stink, things usually get done.

Funny thing is the rest stuff wouldn't have been a big deal if they didn't abuse it. Lebron got crap for resting in Memphis a few months back. You can make the argument to rationalize it, if it's a one time deal. They proceed to do it again on a prime time game against the bulls, and the timing of the warriors and Cavs doing it back to back weeks on prime time is a bad look from a public opinion perspective and for abc who at some point is going to draw the line.

Bron really would never miss another game though if they gave them 0s as stats.

ya didnt care
"spurs are boring, blah blah"

you fans want these guys to have broken bodies and addicted to pain killers when they retire
:smh:

Simple question. If they want designated rest games during the season, what's wrong with the NBA complying only under the condition that they'll have the same amount of designated rest games in the playoffs? If they're that tired, why not give them a little extra rest and spice up the playoffs in the process.

I'm guessing they're all for rest games unless the league dictates how it's done.

Yes. Them dudes was all rested and fresh when they got bounced by the Grizz in the 1st rd.
Second best player got hurt the day the season ended. That rattles any team, word to the present day Warriors (KD is their best player, but losing a core piece rattles a roster period)

No excuses for the Clippers lose.
