I feel as if it's the same thing for NFL coverage whether it's ESPN or NFL Network. Literally all I see are players and coaches

It's the culture we're in, I'm hopeful it's just a fad.. maybe someday soon casual fan will long for something more, more substance

We need more  in the mold of the John Clayton, Schefter, DA, Woj and to get these guys more air time

Sergio was better than TJ yesterday tho & hes more Oak slander from a Sixers fan to start ya day in the quote underneath  :pimp:
  at the Oak slander. Dude really does suck smh. What seat were u in btw?

I was in the 13th row section 102 behind the Sixers bench

I know there are a lot of Young NBA fans but when I was a kid/teen/young adult we listened to former players (Bill Walton etc) in the booth and always had mild complaints the same as (well not the same because you guys complain super hard about the old geezers in the booth and on TV) the younger crowd has now, and my Father would always say, "Walton was a legend, he was a Boss, I want to hear from him" etc. (Love Walton now because of growing up with him and he's just dope, things I refused to see when younger while wanting what I wanted because I could, and the World was mine)

Point is, for every young fan who hates Reggie and Webber etc, there are 10 old Geezers (myself included) who love hearing from the Legends. I can't say anybody under 18 really has an opinion on who is in the booth because even if they hoop, they're not watching a lick of Basketball outside 2k or highlights here and there or they just don't care, about who's in the booth anyway. So, really you have a 19-27 or so crowd who hates Reggie/Webber and the old Geezers, and then you have a 28-80 group who is 10 times the size of that group, who actually likes them and loves to hear from them, or just don't care to complain about it.

It's easy to say "bring in the young crowd it will help" but, it's not the best business model or I can promise you, Reggie and Webber would be gone for hot 20somethings.

Honestly it's not even the old heads that like hearing from the former players, I feel like a lot of the average age/young folk get caught up in "the name" too. To this fan, their word is law

It's definitely money driven, like I said, hopefully we see a cultural shift in the casual fan, it's the only way it'll ever change

No hate against what you're into though

IT let off some head shots on Michonne

"It was intentional. Did you see it?" Thomas said after scoring 20 points in the Celtics' 107-97 loss to the Toronto Raptors. "Yeah, that's not a basketball play by any means. Guys who aren't factors in games do that. It is what it is."

"It's not like back in the day where you can put your hands up and fight a guy," Thomas said. "You can't do that. But that was not a basketball play whatsoever, and that's not cool that he did that."

I think The casual fan in general no matter the age would rather hear from Shaq than Bill Simmons. They could care less about Some white guy who never played Basketball. Only the junkies care, and that crowd in comparison, is super small

Oh well, in 10 years maybe you'll have grown to love them. Good news is, time flies. (Not you specifically but those who don't like them now, sorry for the long quote, I'm on mobile at some Popup Lularoe deally)

Exactly. Just put him up there and in time the casuals will get use to him and better informed because of it. Shaq adds nothing.

It has been time to send Marv Albert to the glue factory, since like 12 years ago. With his prostitute skull raping and biting self. If you took a drink every time he called a player by the wrong name or misidentified what is going on, even the drunkest drunk you'd be dead by half time. Some players look similar out there, Thabo Sef and Kev Martin from a few yrs ago for example so I'll give you that, but like in the all star game when Giannis blocked AD, and he's like "blocked by Westbrook!" Bruh. They're not even on the same team

The Basketball Hall of Fame is the easiest professional sports hall of fame to get into. It's nothing like the Baseball, Hockey or even Football hall of fame.

Winning an MVP and averaging over 17 ppg for your career will get you in eventually.

When guys like Bill Bradley, Alonzo Mourning and Mitch Richmond are in. You HAVE to believe Rose will get in eventually. It's truly pathetic

Word.

Every once in a while we get arguments in here that show that some people don't understand how the Basketball hall of fame works.

That Derrick Rose hate is blinding and supersedes all logic

Pels waive the injured Casspi to sign Reggie Williams to a 10 day
They have plenty of scrubs on that squad to waive for an extra player and THATS the guy they decide to let go of?
He got hurt. He's basically done for the year with the recovery time. It wasn't a flat out "we don't want you"
basically.. they're trying to compete for the 8th spot this year. They can't have injured guys taking up spots unfortunately

I am very aware of how the basketball HoF was. I was the main person arguing for Vince Carter when everyone else told me I was crazy.

Derrick Rose doesn't deserve to and shouldn't go.

just heard about the recent javale/shaq recent feud
shaq needs to just let this **** go. all he is doing is bullying him and trying personally ruin him
mcgee been an asset this season :pimp:

There's some thin skin people in this thread. Shaq bullying a grown man because he shows his basketball screw ups on tv. SMH

you know how cringe worthy it was watching some chick reading the tweets on national tv? it was actually sad, cause shaq makes himself more of a joke on tnt

it's cool showing the bloopers, but when someone fires back at shaq, he takes it personal
