And to be quite frank, the whole "only top seeds win MVP" narrative reminds me of the "jumpshooting teams don't win Championships".

It's played, outdated.
We shall see though.
There is a reason why, they play the games

I don't think Westbrook will be able to maintain these stats at this high usage right for the rest of the season, and either way his efficiency is going to crater.

I have huge respect for him but I don't think it's going to happen.

i know i am in the minority, but mike dantoni deserves a lot of credit
Hell yeah he does.

The guy might not be flexible but he has taken Harden to a new level, just like Nash.  If you give him the tools he wants, he can make it happen.

I don't think he can finish averaging a TripleD either.
No way. It's just to much to do for a season.

But if he does? Man come on, who averages a Triple Double? In this League where we've had Jordans and Kobes and Iversons and T Macs and Magics and Birds, and nobody near close since Oscar....:

This man gets a Season avg TD, man he wins it, period

Why do you think this honestly? He's averaging a triple double in less than 3 quarters of play. He rarely gets fatigued and OKC gives him the keys to do this every single night.

Those were the ramblings of an idiot though. The MVP thing is substantiated by years of evidence.

Well he's not playing that efficiently now. The seasons not even half over. There will be injuries to players on OKC. They are not a high seed and will need him to play hard every game to win. It's going to get tougher from here, not easier as the season goes on.

Westbrook averaging 2 more rebounds is not a reason to give him MVP over harden. That's if the standings remain the same though

Bestbrook season stats through tonight: 30.9 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 10.7 apg on 43% FG, 33% 3P, 30.19 PER

Beard stats through tonight: 28.5 ppg, 7.9 right, 12 apg on 45% FG, 36% 3PT, 28.32 PER.

I was talking with my Father tonight about Teams chances for Chips this year.

His rankings are as follows

Cleveland
Rockets/Memphis/GSW

He thinks (and I agree) Cleveland is a lock and if odds were better bet the house.

He said (and I agree) that GSW has lost there edge.
For one, nobody is scared of them because they lost last year.
For two(and I agree) they no longer have that killer instinct that made them so clutch and hard nosed.

When they added KD they added to what they built from ground up.
The grind was up so to speak.
Now (him talking still) they have so many weapons and KD can't close, and those other guys can be weaker in mind all year because KD can serve as a crutch.

He's handicapped them and other than Adding superior offense and above average defense and rebounding(which they didn't need) he can't close.

Long story short, GSW is f worded (according to him) (and I concur)
