Nah, he's not offensively consistent enough to average quite as much as 25. Has way too many games where he goes ghost mode on offense. Especially if he would have to nearly double his assist average as well, as in your post. And if he did become so good offensively to a point where he averaged 25, his defense would unquestionably suffer. Something's gotta give. T-Mac in his last year in Toronto was on his way to becoming a Pippen-like defender, but then he went to Orlando where he averaged 27-32 ppg and was never seen playing defense again. If Spurs get a top 3 seed, Kawhi is winning MVP and deservedly so.
I think we see an even bigger step forward from him.
25/8/4 on 50% shooting with his usual all world defense.
He's the unquestioned leader of the team now, he's said it and Pop has.
With his drive + the system + supporting cast, I don't see how he doesn't level up again this year and enter himself into conversation of best player in the world.
Blake will win it if he doesn't get hurt again.10-1 odds on him winning the award and imo I don't see any scenario where he doesn't win.If Spurs get a top 3 seed, Kawhi is winning MVP and deservedly so.

My only other realistic pick is LeBron. He plays 70 games does typical LeBron things plus the carryover from the NBA Finals win and the fact that the "LeBron is declining talk" was silenced can easily get him there.
You will post "they need to let ___ flourish" about at least 10 more young players this year
Alphabet season
Kidd needs to just start
Delly
Teletovic
Alphabet
Jabari
Plum

As for the "best player in the world" label, he's certainly not going to get that no matter what he does in the regular season. Because regular season alone won't erase his two consecutive choke jobs in the playoffs in two series where his team was favored to win both times, and which are bound to get mentioned whenever someone starts calling him the greatest player in the world.
23/7.8/3.5/2 on 48% shooting "taking a dive" than you living in your own world.
50 games still isn't enough.dont get me wrong, i am def inclined to agree with you...
but if okc wins 50 games and RW puts up 28-30/9/9...
i think even kd would vote for him
Tbh I can see this. Especially the best in the world conversation, he kind of should be already in there now.If Spurs get a top 3 seed, Kawhi is winning MVP and deservedly so.

The Spurs have had a top 3 record like every damn season Why eould having one this year guarantee an MVP for Cuhwhy?
I gope the voters don't do to Steph what they did to Bron. Once you win back to back they start lookinng for reasons not to give it to you. The bball gods made Rose pay for the voters' sins. If Steph has another historical season he better win it.
