Wall coming off surgery on BOTH knees, I'm going to need to see him the first 20 games to get a feel for where he's really at.

He on Hoopshype checking which PG's are getting paid more than him as we speak so we'll see if that motivates him.

Repped...he gets overlooked for whatever reason...

Probably because the last few seasons, he's been in the press too much for talking about another man's contract and butting heads with his backcourt mate. Meanwhile, you have PG's out there better than him just playing ball. He has undeniable talent, but he still has weaknesses in his game that he needs to improve on that still keeps him outside of the top 3 or 4 easily.

Considering his usage rate when compared to PG's with similar to higher usage rate as him (Steph, Lillard, Westbrook, Lil Zeke), his numbers are not just shattering. 10apg in 36mpg -- still 5th among PG's when factoring per 36 (Rubio, Rondo, Russ, CP3). Then he's right at the top in turnovers per game with Russ, who he's not even really close to competing with in terms of overall ability. I'll say people talk about Wall just about enough.

I guess he deserves some recognition as best passer since the same guys that's listed ranks right up there with him in assists. I just don't John Wall "the player" is really being overlooked too much.

He's a top-5 PG in the league. Period.

Looked a bit off vs. the Knicks the other day, but I'm just happy he's out there going full speed. Going to be interesting to see if Brooks' addition changes things a bit for him. Maybe he was handcuffed, like the rest of the team, due to the lack of creativity from Wittman.

Just saying -- outside of his assist numbers, everything else isn't screaming top 5 when looking at the grand scheme of things. His minutes per game and usage rate could be the argument for his scoring and/or assist numbers. Not to say he isn't top 5, but just look at everything for a second ...

- not top 5 BPM amongst PG's
- not top 5 RPM aongst PG's
- top 3 in turnovers
- #22 in assist to turnover ratio
- the 3rd lowest FG% among top 20 scorers in the league

if i dig deeper, i could find more numbers. i'll put him closer to the other guards than where Russ, Curry and Cp3 are right now. That's the simple way of saying it. That doesn't mean he can't get there being that he's only 26, though.

I just think its more concerning when you have a guard that suppose to be as great as Wall not simply dominating that conference at his position. You can argue that Kyle Lowry had a better year than he did, yet, people are talking as if Wall cannot be touched

All this PG stuff is subjective anyways. I just don't look at Wall and say he's automatically better than the rest of the guys when I don't tihnk he's close to the top 3 listed (Curry, Russ, CP3). His deficiencies as a player still puts him in line with the other guys previously mentioned with a higher ceiling of improving.

You can argue and say he's a top 5 PG talent, but that doesn't have to mean he was top 5 last season (which he wasn't when looking at his competition).

This isn't the first time rumors surrounding Aldridge's future with San Antonio have surfaced. Last season, there were rumblings in NBA circles that Aldridge wanted to be traded before the All-Star break, maybe to a team like the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Spurs didn't bite, though, won 67 games and advanced to the second round of the playoffs.

Those close to the situation suggest Aldridge may not be happy at the moment. The belief is the Spurs pitched him on becoming the center of their offense when they recruited him in 2015, and that hasn't occurred with the rise of Kawhi Leonard

Seriously, just look at how bad 2000 was

Kenyon Martin, Speedy Claxton, Jamal Crawford, Hedo Turkoglu, Deshawn Stevenson and Mike Miller are your best players, 3 of which whose greatest success came in reserve/relief roles. Both the star quality and depth were atrocious.

The most interesting thing to me looking back at that draft after those 2 second round draft picks from Indian Hills Community College.

What's the story there and how did a Community College manage to get 2 players drafted in the same draft no less?

Clearly LMA doesn't care about winning, which is fine. Might as well deal him to a franchise that'll let him get buckets

He was close to signing with the Suns because he was afraid he wasn't going to get enough shots for his liking with the Spurs.

Well well well.

Really for pmatic pmatic

Have you been able to catch some of the Grizz highlights and see what Fizdale been doing?

Grizz 3 point attempts in preseason by game

44
23

3-point shooting during preseason (5 games):

Marc: 6-13
Zbo: 5-11

Conley is taking a lot more shots early in the shot clock and is looking to become more aggressive. Last 3 games he averaged 18 a game, which is pretty much where I pegged him for the year.

Points scored as a team:
102
83
121
110
134 (2 OT)

I'm scared about our defense dropping off though

Have not. It's hard for me to get through Grizzlies games these days. An increase in threes or not.

Still hard to believe they took games 5 and 7 on the road against the 73 win defending champs.

Coming back from 3-1 with only 1 home game is incredible in any series. Doing it against THAT team?

:smokin :smokin :smokin

when you have that man on your team, doing everything he's capable of, you can beat any team.

#neverforget

I'm picturing a vicious block on KD, Curry getting mixed by Kyrie and locked up by Love again while Klay throws his hands in the air come June
