Can't say Doc doesn't develop when Blake has become a way better shooter and Doc has allowed him to be a playmaker.

More of that is a function of Blake's talent rather than development from Doc's part. If your statement held true, that means he would've done something similar with his time in Boston.

he wasn't doing any of that before doc so how can you say that?

I'm not a Doc apologist by any means, but his Clipper tenure isn't as black and white as NT makes it out to be

-Albeit it's his son, Austin Rivers has turned into a pretty good basketball player and one of the best shooters in the league. When you consider how close he was to being out of the NBA prior to LAC, that has to count for "developing" young guys

- Both DJ and Blake are obviously better players since Doc's come on board. DJ is a friggin Olympian, All star, and First Team all NBA player now man, that wasn't happening w/  Vinny.

- The Clippers have had their flame outs in the playoffs granted, but a lot of that is due to 1) Bad Luck w/ injuries during the regular season and playoffs 2) Them not being better than the team they were playing and 3) Players not coming through. When they've had HC in the playoffs under Doc, they've beaten the Spurs, the Warriors, (even with the Sterling cloud over the team). As the coach, Doc had LAC primed to beat OKC and Houston, the players didn't come through. He had LAC up 3-1 w/ an injured Chris Paul against Houston.

Doc can't control Blake and CP getting injured during the season and putting them at a disadvantage home court wise, in the 2nd round. He hasnt' been the greatest, but he hasn't been the worst either.

What young player was he supposed to do that with? Rondo? Wait he was his best under Doc.

He turned friggin Austin Rivers to a viable NBA player. I don't care that that's his son, that's huge. He turned Reggie Bullock into a lotto pick, who's been an essential part to LAC's team since he's been here.

you can also give him a little credit for jj redick
it's funny how dude was trying to give thibs all the praise when he hasn't done anything since leaving boston lol

JJ too. You're right.

He's extended CP's career a bit, and has turned Blake Griffin and especially DeAndre Jordan into who he is today.

The Clips playoff failures have way more to do with them choking games away, and being injured in the regular season + playoffs than it does with Doc Rivers.

@The Collector  so you quit the thread?

My bad man.

I was out of line.

Come back.

Who remembers That guy who quit the NBA thread because people wouldn't stop making fun of lebrons hairline?

I think Redick has been legit since way before Doc.

I think if anything credit would go to CP3 for finding him in his spots and Redick starting instead of coming off the bench.

The Clips have averaged 56 wins a year under doc and that's with Blake and / or CP being out due to injury every year that he's been the head coach. You have to be a pretty good coach for this to happen.

Hell, this season the Clips are 3 games back in the loss column of Houston for the 3 seed w/ both Chris Paul and Blake Griffin missing significant time already. You have to be a pretty good for this to happen.

Last two games before the All Star break

It's only right for the subculture that we get both the Wizards and the Celtics playing tonight

Gonna need the Collector's to be present for the festivities

Bonus, we also get the Black Gordon Hayward

are we better than we were with sam mitchell?
what did chicago do besides losing in the ecf?

You said he didn't do anything after leaving Boston. I'm assuming if that's the case then you agree Doc has done nothing either. The development of Rose and Butler had nothing to do with Thibs?

You guys are just basing your critique off a wins/loss perspective. As previously mentioned, Doc has talent around him to sustain the wins.

This is a black and white approach to Doc, and it's way more factors than "he's had the talent around him to sustain wins"

They were not overwhelming favorites against OKC, or Houston and in neither series they had homecourt advantage. Big reason for this was injuries to CP and Blake during the regular season, which Doc had nothing to do with.
