For the folks out there who don't partake in social media

Do you get weird looks from your friends or new people you meet because of your choice to stay off of IG/snapchat?

Does your interaction with other people seem strange when you meet with people that use those outlets?

Do you ever feel pressure to just go ahead and join since it's such normalized behavior?

I'm 24... Ditched all of them around 21.

Friends are annoyed because they want to share stuff with me, but mostly don't care.

Workforce doesn't care or ask.

People in school do give me weird looks.
Social life is less than it was prior to ditching them. People take far less initiative through phone to make plans as opposed to making a facebook event or sliding in the dms or open invite stuff.

Overall happy not be concerned with everyone else... but suffering because my ridiculous work schedule makes it so i don't hang out with people for months at a time sometimes.

Naw nobody really cares and interactions don't seem strange.

Never felt pressured for facebook/instagram/twitter...just can't get into it

Can't lie though I signed up for Facebook in college because all my boys was like that's where the junks at...I got at one girl and felt corny as hell so I left it alone...I login maybe 5 times a year

NT is all I need

NT is my social media

Everybody knows I don't do social media & it's never been an issue. I have a snap but that's it. My friends & everyone else know me as the dude that's always under the radar but will pop out at social events whatever & it's funny how so many ppl act surprised to see you when your life isn't readily accessible to everyone else:

Only pressure comes from the networking aspect. Being on lets you keep in contact with ppl you probably wouldn't routinely interact with. Really the only thing I miss about it.

Gotta facebook that I sign into once every 3 months or so just to accept friend requests from people I'll never speak to.

Hit the homies/family on viber/whatsapp/IMO. Dunno if that counts.

One random chick looked at me dumbfounded when I told her I don't really use FB or go to the club.
Shorty was snapping pics all night at the bar. She was bad af too.

Barely go on Facebook. Probably spend majority of my time on Twitter and IG.

Yeah. It's weird to me to see people snapchatting all night instead of enjoying the moment.

i log into the Facebook every once in a while, but i don't actively post on the Facebook...if its one of my main friends or associates birthdays, i will use the Facebook as a calendar of sorts...

I think people than incessantly update IG/Snapchat deserve the weird looks, but I'm older than most here and don't really care.  Got enough real life right in front of me to deal with.

The only people you need to impress in this world are job interviewers and attractive women.

Long as I been living, I ain't never heard of any man getting turned down for a job or snatch because he didn't have a social media account.

I still use Snapchat on a regular basis to share pics with my friends, but that's about it for my social media presence. No Twitter, no IG, and a Facebook I only use for messaging.

I mainly use social media for my income. I have a FB but mainly use it to chat with friends, I don't really post much.

Snapchat is the only social media I use quite frequently for personal use. Use my twitter mainly to keep up with my international contacts and IG is strictly business. I just tell people who don't know what kind of business I do that I don't use IG. Most people don't really find it all that strange. IG is popular for sure but people don't give you strange looks for not using it over here.

What is your ig?

Don't really use social media outside of Twitter. Why should I? I don't feel the need to use platforms like Snapchat because I know I'm intellectual, cool, athletic/in-shape, successful, ambitious, going places in life, not bad looking, respectful, protective, strong when needed, sensitive when needed, expressive, self-confident, and can deal with adversity and still come out on top anyway. I shouldn't need social media to prove that.

I have several. I generally don't actually use them, I just sell usernames to people.

In short, there is a market for social media usernames. One reason is marketing purposes, for example the username Style on IG sold for $4600.

Usernames like style, fashion, fitness are very easy to grow and eventually monetize through online marketing, advertising, ... and thus go for large amounts. The second reason is just superficial, people who want a cool username or a very expensive one as a status symbol.

If you look up 1 letter usernames on IG like A, B, C, ... you'll note that virtually all of them are owned by rich Arabs. That's because they're very rare and go for $3000 to $10000 on the market. And rich Arabs happen to fiend for online status symbols and have an excess of wealth to spend on them.

On average though, buyers are just regular folks like you or me. And most are sold between the $30 and $250 range.

I recently sold @Buddhism for $200 and @Merciless for $250 for example.

this. I find it lame.

I chilled with my friend for the first time in months, he's the type that shares everything. he assumed I don't go anywhere or do much bc I haven't posted much on IG. thing is that I don't share everything, I've gone through like 4-5 phones and I just didn't take my camera out bc I WANTED to enjoy my trips.

Do you just create random email addresses for these usernames? How much do you think my instagram will go for?

Whenever I go somewhere and don't take photos people always act like I'm an alien or something.

"How will you remember?"

"Ummmmm I was there?"
