**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

AB has been extremely disappointing.
That whole "3 & D" rep he had in Stanford definitely did not transition well to the professional realm.

The defense maybe a bit, the shot tho... :x
Very disappointing. Especially since Norman Powell was available.

Yi asked to be released...so now down to Thomas robinson or metta.....

I feel like Robinson could give us some bursts but maybe our young guys need doses of metta's wisdom/wackness throughout the season....you know....like how not to run stiff backed and into people on a fast break

Dawg we need to let that "he gon teach the young kids" stuff go  the **** ain't been working...add him to the coaching staff like they saying if we need him to teach the young kids so bad. I for the love of god cannot take seeing this slow *** old dude run up the court and miss wide open layups, brick shots etc. dude ain't even a good defender anymore. It's just that time  no hard feelings but he gotta go

I would rather watch Clark Randle Russ etc jack up shots and miss then watch world peace get open looks and miss.

Robinson has no place on the team with all the bigs here already, but I'll still take him over MWP.

Probably makes it a bit easier for the staff to make the cuts now. Since Yi is out of the way, and after hearing that we're interested in making MWP an assistant, I'll say that MWP will be cut.

I wonder why Yi requested to be cut...did he feel he was gonna be cut anyway so was him requesting to be released just him saving face?? Or did he feel like he would make the team but wouldn't have a role so he wanted to bounce??? Interesting...well not really but it would be nice to know lol

Looking at him play I just don't think he was comfortable with the speed and pressure of the game. Never really looked comfortable.
Its different he wasnt playing against 5'3" men who doesn't play defense. Wish him the best tho.

Yi probably knew he wasn't going to have a role with the team and we were just going to trade him come trade deadline. Bet he had thoughts of his time in Milwaukee and was like nah I ain't gonna do this again

Anyways RJ Hunter just got waived...hmm

probably anticipated a bigger role with the team

hard to say considering the lineups Luke was trying out there whether had a spot in the rotation.

Luke probably said it all depends on match ups and how the game is going to go
