**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

And CP3 will most likely opt out this summer, especially if the Clippers get bounced out of the playoffs again which is highly likely.

If Melo is a Laker by summertime, the Lakers will be a much more attractive destinatio for CP3 to opt out and unite with his best friend.

Remember, the Clippers have nothing, no attractive assets, zero, zilch, nada, that Phil wants.
But Chris Paul literally just verbal'd this week that he was re-upping with LAC this summer.

IF Melo is a Laker this summer, that's still not nearly the attractive destination for CP as say, playing with Blake/DJ and competing for a ring. A team of Melo+CP isn't doing **** and he knows that. If Melo and CP end up playing in LA, it'll undoubtedly be in LAC.

Melo's NTC can force that, and this is beside the fact that Chris isn't turning down 210 Million dollars.

There's no real tangible avenue for Melo to end up in LAL.

For christ's sake.

Dude, the Lakers aren't doing this. And Melo has to approve this, which isn't happening at all lol like I said the only LA team Melo could play for is LAC and that's a longshot as it stands now from what i'm told by LAC.

And Cousins also said three weeks ago that he was re-upping with Sacramento. Don't fall for the smokescreens.

CP3 wants to win. He's been on that same underachieving Clipper squad for the last 5 years with same stinking results in the playoffs. Yet the Clippers have done close to nothing in order to improve that roster.

CP3 is being politically correct. Of course he won't say he's thinking about opting out. He won't mention it until the time comes.

But your opinion is your opinion. Leave it at that. One thing I can damn near guarantee you is that CP3 is NOT going to retire as a Clipper.

Meaning:  Don't count it out that something can MAGICally unfold.

C'mon man you make us want to believe you then you say corny outlandish stuff like this.

MAGICally....lmao.

No one is trading two lottery talents on rookie contracts for melo.

Randle and DLO are "talents?" LOL....tell me what they've accomplished this season and how the Lakers have improved with those two scrubs starting and tell me WHAT THEY'VE SHOWN TO MAKE YOU BELIEVE 100% THAT THEY WILL BOTH BE BETTER IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS THAN WHAT CARMELO ANTHONY HAS BEEN HIS ENTIRE CAREER.

You wouldn't even bet a stack that either DLo or Randle will become an All-Star at least once in their careers.

I'm waiting.

Magic and Bird get reacquainted as Lakers look in on Pacers star Paul George, sources say http://es.pn/2m9T6vv
via @ESPN App http://es.pn/app

"As for the possibility of more trades from the Lakers before the deadline, sources say Johnson is far more likely to move a veteran such as Jose Calderon or Nick Young than anyone from L.A.'s young core."

like i said before if magic can ship young out before the deadline i will never say a bad word about magic again.

wanna bet

You not listening fam. I'm not saying that Chris Paul won't opt out. He will. As will blake. But neither are turning down 210 Million dollar deals. It's not happening. No NBA player would do that. So no matter what happens in the playoffs, they'll be back with LAC.

Come on man, be logical for a second. Why would CP and Melo link up to play their last bit of their prime with the Lakers? That doesn't even make sense. Has nothing to do with LAC having no assets, and has everything to do with Melo being able to Veto a trade to LAL, which he would. He's not playing on a damn rebuild this late into his career man. Just be logical with this.

I don't think Melo comes to LA at all, but if he does it'll be for a chance (however small that may be) to win a title w/his bestfriend with the Clippers.

Now how the hell do you know Melo would veto a trade to the Lakers. Did he say that?

How the hell do you know for a fact that the Lakers would be focusing on an all-out rebuild if they chose to trade some young assets and acquired Melo, Jennings, and already Corey Brewer? How do you know that the Lakers aren't looking to create a roster destined to win NOW, a roster with a mix of veteran stars surrounded by mid-career players still in their prime as well as young up and comers?

But like I said, your opinion is your opinion and mine is mine.

Wow, I'll get the bubble wrap ready.

Really appreciate the heads up man. I mean, I hate the trade... but at least we've given appropriate notice of this impending trade. Thanks, Whip.

Wow that was a horrible trade lol cmon whip u better than that
I know fam, it's not what you want to hear....but imo it's the only "big" trade that's most likely to happen for the Lakers.

All other trades (e.g., Nick Young, Jose Calderon) that could happen tomorrow would be minor.
