I think he sucks. But GMs fall for potential and upside. Plus, if you add Randle and a 1st to the pot, with Teague likely leavings, they may bite. Just because I see Dlo a certain way doesn't mean Larry Bird might.

As for Dame, I would need to see his money/age and all that and go from there. Dame is better, today, but more expensive and "i think" much older, (26-27????) That would give me much pause. But I would have to dig into it and see.

I'm looking at it like this. If we concede that it's going to take 3-4 more years see if young guys amount to something, that's taking all of them past their cheap asset phase and into real money.

Say one star does emerge (D'Lo or BI) that's not going to be enough to get back to contention. You need another guy at minimum. But you're tied to the money of the others who didn't hit the mark and can't get that other guy mainly because of the Deng and Mosgov deals which run through 2020.

We all know the parameters of the new CBA and incentives of staying with a team. Especially for the other budding stars (KAT, AD, Wiggins, Zinger, Booker etc.), the likelihood of them moving is slim to none. And it's not like we're left with nothing in either scenario I proposed. You still have a young nucleus in either case to grow with PG13 who's still only 26 and maybe he helps expedite that growth cause usually playing with better players does that. And having a star in tow absolutely makes a destination more attractive.

We did, we won chips. Because we already had Kobe (in his prime) on this roster. And LO, and Bynum, and Phil Jackson. Pau slotted right in.


We have none of that, currently. Hence, BE PATIENT, before you start throwin your assets out the window. When you have a better core built up, and you're 1-2 players away, THEN you can absolutely get aggressive and make the move. I'd 100% support that.
